Been a while.

Not the biggest fan of Dalembert.

As a matter of fact I was a little afraid Dalembert was the guy the Rockets were going to end up with before the off-season.

Doesn't always play hard, tends to take too many (bad) shots and he makes some decisions that will drive you nuts.

Having said that I'm OK with this move.
It's not the long-term deal I was afraid of, nor the big bucks.

Dalembert has a lot of flaws, but he is a BBG.

I know many of you want(ed) to tank and go with Hill & Thabeet, but I don't think that ever was a scenario the Rockets seriously looked at.

What I like most about the Dalembert signing is that it gives that Rockets another asset.
Asset is probably not the first thought you get when thinking about Dalembert, but to the Rockets got themselfs an assets they haven't had in a while. A true, proven center.

I'm sure there are plenty of semi-contending teams who'd love to have Dalembert on their team. Just off the top off my head, the Celtics, Hawks & Spurs would seem to have great interest.
What are the odds one of them will get desperate? Especially Atlantla looks like a team ready to blow it up to me.
Point being, worst case scenario you probably still get an asset in return for Dalembert.
Best case scenario you make Dalembert part of a 3 for 1 trade and turn two or three C assets into one B asset.
That's good enough for me.

^^ i didnt think about him as an asset. with his contract he's a really good asset. i never would've thought any of those free agent centers would get less than 9mil per season.
