Sports Radio 610 drops Jim Rome

Friday's show will be the last broadcast of the Jim Rome show on 610 in Houston. They cite declining ratings with people shifting to the show on 790 while Rome is on for more local coverage.

Damn!!! Jim Rome was big in Houston and was one of his first radio markets to pick up his show. Sucks! But I like Matt Thomas and Mighty more which are on 790. Well I also like 790's morning more then 610. Just not a big fan of 610 and it strong homerism. ANyways Rome is better then whatever 610 can put out there in that time slot

Jim Rome and Matt Thomas both suck....actually all of the radio personalities in Houston suck bad...the only good one is Charlie Palillo...

I AM a Huge sports radio listener,

this is what i listen to throughout my workday

the big show on 790
then mike meltzer from 10 to 11
then mighty guin on 790
them matt thomas on 790 till 2pm
then lord on 610 from 2 to 3 since they go live from texans practice
then Charlie palillo on 790 all the way

and yes i agree charlie palillo is hands down the best radio host

and btw i hate jim row's show, couldnt stand it -_-

What annoys me nowdays is that both 610, 790, etc. radio sports talk will many times talk about non-sport issues for an extended period of time....annoys the heck out of me. Stick with sports please! These guys will go off on a tangent about other crap.....even Barry Warner can be annoying too though i remember him from years ago as pretty insightful. The worse is Josh Ines...the guy is an idiot!

A-freaking-men, Inquisitive!

I don't care about celebrity birthdays, what the hosts do in their personal lives or any of the other inane drivel that I usually find when I tune into 610 or 790. At least on 790 I know I can usually get some Rockets talk. But for me: no celebrity birthdays, no high school sports talk, as little UT or A&M talk as possible, no Baylor talk...Give me some Rockets, some Texans, some Astros, some Cougars and yes: some Dynamo!

That said, I do like hearing about national topics, unless it involves the Dallas Cowboys or Tennessee Titans because, you know...#$%& them! :lol:

I don't know I think it would be hard to just sit their and talk about sports the whole time. Not enough happens for them to do that specially since they only talk about the big three. As long as they don't make non sports issues the focal point then I am okay. I can only stand so much of Charlie. Guy is smart and knows a lot but his long winded approach annoys the hell out of me.

Houston sports, UT sports. No A&M and take calls from Titan and Cowboy fans just to only drop them before they begin to talk :lol:

I agree with all except UT sports - they have the LHN for that talk!
