Al Horford?

Post#1 » by texasholdem » Fri Jan 13, 2012 5:42 am

He's currently out for 3 to 4 months with a pectoral tear.

How about trading Kevin Martin and Jordan Hill to ATL for Horford?

Horford will make 12 million a year for the next 4 seasons, a decent price for a 25 year old center/forward who averaged 15.3 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.0 blocks last season.

ATL could start Hill at C and either move Joe Johnson to SF or have Martin off the bench taking over McGrady's bench scorer role.

Hill, 24, is from the ATL area and had a good game vs the Hawks on New Year's Eve scoring 11 points and grabbing 15 rebounds.

Joe Johnson is getting up there in age (turning 31 in June) while earning MAX money

Josh Smith is only signed for one more year after this.

Their window isn't going to be open much longer, esp with Miami and Chicago in the East.

Martin and Hill would give them a good shot at the playoffs this year. Without Horford they are dead in the water.

It's not a serious injury like microfracture or something. He'll get better after surgery.

We aren't going to the playoffs this year anyway. It's a future move.

Lol again. I can't take all these one sided trade requests from this board that only help our team. Why would atl trade an ALL STAR big man to us for a shooting guard that guards no one and makes ten million plus per only to have him sit on the bench because they already have a superior sg starting? Im not even going to address Jordan hill....

Joe Johnson can easily slide to small forward to let Kevin Martin be the shooting guard.
Marvin Williams is a weak starting three anyway.

Jordan Hill is averaging 10 points, 11 rebounds and 2 blocks vs Eastern Conference teams so far this year.

if they are going to trade Horford, they are going to demand Patterson or Morris

Well since Morris is hurt now too I'm cool with that.

I like the idea of trading for an injured player, as the Rockets won't go anywhere this season anyway, but I don't think Al Horford is the kind of guy the Rockets should trade for.

Another PF/converted C, limited upside & kind of already reached his ceiling (?).

Also, I don't like the idea of selling low, though trading Martin for Horford can't really be described as selling low and Kevin Martin just might be Aaron Brooks 2012. (I sure hope not. :-? )

Horford is no center, and an allstar only in name(lack of bigs).

He has no post game, just a weak face up game.

Do not want.

ok so next year make Dalembert the center and Horford the power forward and trade Scola for a higher draft pick.

A Hatian/Dominican frontline is interesting from a geopolitcal standpoint.

Horford is one of the best defenders and best passers in the 4/5 spot, like a 6'10 Chuck Hayes.
His numbers have improved every year and he's only 25 so I don't think he's reached his ceiling yet.

I want to speak for Hawks fans right now, I think we would definitely do Martin and Hill for Al, but only if you guys would throw in your 2012 pick and it was unprotected, I think the Hawks would throw in their first this year too. But I don't expect Rockets fans to do that just throwing out Ideas cause there's no way we do Hill and Martin for Al with no picks involved.

and... no reply.

We tried going with high maintenance (They take a lot out of both sides of the ball) defense and offense small guard with Jamal Crawford. K-Mart is poison.

We need low maintenance scorers and low maintenance defenders.
