Scola has been awful this year. He used to be a good post up option but not anymore. You put anyone with length + above average athleticism on Scola and he's completely shut down. Scola has become mostly a pick and pop player.

Patterson can do that while covering more ground on defense.

I think amnestying scola to create more capspace to sign 2 max free agent in the summer is not out of the question.

Either way getting rid of Scola is a must

Wilson Chandler will be a RFA and the Rockets only have something like 777k in cap space and the $2.5M 'room exception', so you'd have to (sign&)trade for him. [S&T for Scola anyone?]

Chandler wouldn't get this team anywhere though. I like him, too, but he's just another guy. Decent player, but certainly not a game changer.

We need that gamechanger. Nothing else matters. We got enough *good* players.
If you can't trade for that guy or make him come here via FA, then please go in the other direction.

I'm tired of this mediocre crap.

I agree but that win streak messed all that up. Detroit, Charlotte, New Orleans and Washington might not even win 12 games.

im irritated by scola this season, but unfortunately this lockout season is gonna do that to players, and it could last the whole season + playoffs. i dont think he's declining (significantly). he was the mvp in fiba, but with 2 extra months off the nba...i dunno wtf is wrong with him. wasnt he one of the few guys that was actually IN SHAPE when the season started?

after 5 day all star break, we'll see if that boosts the fat asses on this team. schedule's a lot easer in march and april, 2-3 days off between games. that could be what he needs to get back to his 18/8 numbers.

good thing is all i care is we make the playoffs, and morey makes some moves for the future of this team. dont care if its tanking or contending.

Luis Scola has been playing under 25 minutes in the last 4 games. Dalembert is getting more boards and touches. Hayes didn't get plays called for him and he is really the kinda player that boxes people out so his team mates can get the boards. That's why Scolas numbers are down.

Scola is fine, his minutes will creep back up and he'll be back to his old 18 and 9 self. IMHO, him off the court means his on ball defense (or lack thereof) is less exposed. On some match ups it might be beneficial to play the other 4s.

My $0.02.
