Carmelo wouldn't be a bad player to have if he wasn't paid like he's really good instead of average and if he didn't eat so many shots with average shooting efficiency. He and martin are both average players paid like superstars. Martin is by far the better value because he's paid 50% less. Anthony's team will never win unless they get lucky and get someone good (chandler, anderson, billups, etc) to do the work while anthony gets the credit.

Really, that's your argument? Martin had a better game than Melo?

For the record, I do agree that NY would be better off team-wise with Martin than Melo. This, of course, considering the awakening of Lin. I mean with Melo in the line and his superstar contract he HAS to get a certain amount of touches. But with Amare and Lin already needing their amount of touches and Shumpert and Smith TAKING their 10+ shots a game, and let us not forget about B Diddy, where is Melo going to fit into this offense?

He would have much more freedom here to do his own thing, and we would finally have someone that's not going to pass up so many dang shots like last night's game. Not to mention we could finally start getting some of that attention we are all so desperate for. Hey, we might even be able to attract Dwight. I think it would be a win win. However, it's not going to happen.

That and he would be a better fit with Lin.

We agree a swap it would benefit both the Knicks and Rockets.
We agree it's not going to happen, but neither will 99.999% of trades suggested on Realgm will either.

There is no way in which trading Martin for Anthony benefits the Rockets.

I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that, Isaiah.

BY THE WAY here is a really good summary of why I dislike Melo's game.

Isaiah is the NBA Rookie with the Kings
Isiah is the NBA Hall of Famer and former Knick GM

Comparing him to LeBron, 10 out of 10 people will take LeBron over Melo.
But the issue here is Melo vs Kevin Martin.

Same issues apply. Carmelo's TS% is low. Martin's is not. Martin's rebounding is low. Carmelo's is slightly I think above average?

I'm not going too in-depth because they're both average. The biggest issue with both is their contracts, of which Carmelo's is worse by far.
