Veteran Big? Odom or Brand

Post#1 » by twix2500 » Sun Jul 7, 2013 9:26 pm

The Houston Rockets are a hot team right now and needs to fill out its roster. The Rockets should go after veterans who are trying to stay in the league and can still contribute and looking for a contender.

Right now there is a huge hole at power forward and there are two veterans who can fill that void excellent for a year or two Elton Brand and Lamar Odom. I would push hard to get at least one of these players and I think they can be had. The Rockets also give them an opportunity to start on a contending team which they may not find anywhere else.

Lamar brings so much versatility and its important to have when a team lacks depth like the Rockets. Brand bring leadership along with physical play to help these young players make it through the long season as they learn each other.

Who would you rather have?

Lamar Kardashian will only play for a LA team. Remember when he was traded to Dallas what a fiasco that was.
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

Want neither, need neither

Howard, Asik & McHale are our vet bigs, and if they do need one then they can call Hayes.

Agreed on Odom and I believe that the Knicks may be close to acquiring Brand's services.

Hayes would be an awesome re-addition, but he makes too much for this team at this point.

Skill-wise and experience-wise, it'd be nice to have Odom as a veteran role player. But he's got major off-the-court factors and basically can only play in LA.

I'd much rather have Brand for his toughness.

If we want a veteran big, let's go with Moof's idea and get Dejuan Blair.

A 2-3 year deal with part of the mid level exception or with the bi annual exception seems very sensible.

We have the burliest front court rotation in the entire nba.

I'm imagining this now...

Frontcourt: Asik/Howard/Smith/Blair/Jones/Moteenietinyjunas

Who looks forward to playing that?
