I haven't seen this guy play enough to form my own opinion of him. He's been on the Rockets radar before, so I'm going with "In Morey I Trust" on this one.

Nice addition IMO Morey was looking to get him last season, but then we got Brooks iirc.
He was awesome his 1st year, runs well can play either forward spot.

Got used to seeing all the road Lin fans in attendance during games, now we can get accustomed to the Casspi road fans too.

As someone who has watched him in SAC and CLE, I can say there is no doubt he has disappointed since his rookie season. However, I think he does have a chance to relive his initial success. In his rookie season, he thrived until around the allstar break, when the Kings were playing uptempo basketball with lots of ball movement, but once they decided they are putting the ball in Tyreke's hands to chase the 20-5-5, their game just slowed down and there was hardly any ball movement. In Cleveland it was more of the same - give the ball to Kyrie and everyone get out of the way.

Casspi can become a valuable role player, but only in a system that can bring out his strength and hide his weaknesses. He is not a good ball handler, and he can't create his own shot, but he is good at catch-and-shoot and at moving without the ball, which is why a system with more ball movement will get more out of him than a system that relies on iso-ball. He is a good rebounder for his position, especially when he gets consistent minutes and his confidence is up.

In general, confidence is a big factor with him. If he feels like the coach trusts him and he gets consistent minutes, you will generally see his shooting percentages go up (including his FTs which have been terrible, especially last year). If the coach loses confidence in him and only gives him spot minutes, well, expect some airballs...

I'm pretty optimistic because I know he and McHale have a good relationship, and also it will be refreshing for him to finally be on a team that is actually trying to win games and not focusing on getting stats for its rookie PG.

with the deal he signed to, he's a low risk-high reward player. he's perfect as a 3rd stringer. 6'9 225-230, can play both forward positions, . he still has a decent chance to get near his rookie/soph level. as long as he isnt expected to be a rotational player from the start, i like this deal.
