We Should Bring Back Yao

Post#1 » by ubernathan » Wed Oct 30, 2013 5:47 pm

We should bring Yao in to be our backup center. He has had a few years to recover, and is still younger than many productive NBA players (33). I think he would give us a good look off of the bench, with his better outside shooting pairing well with other big men as well as his superior post arsenal. He is pretty wealthy, we should be able to lure him back to the game with the vet minimum. Maybe bring him back as an assistant coach to use as a player coach, using the coach's salary to circumvent the cap (plus he'd be a good coach).

Have you seen any photos of Yao recently? It's pretty obvious that he's not exactly spending every day at the gym, to put it mildly. That ship has moved on.
But do you know what they call a fool, who's full of himself and jumps into the path of death because it's cool?

Yao's feet killed his career and he has clearly moved on from basketball.

Yao's fat now. You think his body was tough on his feet before, if he comes back he might never walk again. I do like that he's kept his house in Houston and maintains interest in the Rockets.

Les is 70 and can't own the team forever, hopefully Yao's saved up his money where he can at least be the majority stakeholder in an ownership group someday.

Unfortunately, it appears that there will be no return to professional basketball for Yao.

But he will always be a Rocket.

He needs to get to work on having a son. Or is that one child per couple law still in effect over there?

Even if that law is still on the books I'm sure that there is an "Unless you're Yao" provision.

Wow.

This thread is a joke right?

There is NO WAY Yao comes back from retirement.

The dude is currently making so much $$$ in China with his business ventures.
