What is it with Lin and tire companies? Maxxis Tires, an MSG advertiser that signed on with the Knicks during Linsanity, followed Lin to Houston by ending their MSG contract and signing a new one with the Rockets for courtside advertising.
And now Kenda Tires is sponsoring JLin swag.
Maxxis Tires and Kenda Tires are both Taiwanese companies, of course.
But this is despite the fact that the Toyota center already had an official tire company before getting Lin back, Yokohama Tires. Needless to say, Yokohoma renewed their contract to continue being the official tire company for the Rockets, especially once Lin returned.
So that means Maxxis Tires and Kenda Tires are throwing money at the Rockets despite the fact that they know they will be 2nd banana to Yokohama Tires, who were there first and contracted to be the official tires for the Rockets when Lin wasn't on their team.
What is it with Lin and tire companies? He's got three of them fighting over who gets to give money to the Rockets to crank out things like what looks like an anime version of him on a keychain.
