Playoff series are all about the adjustments. If I were to guess I would imagine POR is going to try to abuse the Lopez-LMA frontcourt more in game 4, so we'll be seeing more Asik.

It's as simple as this, and we've been saying this all year long, and right all year long!

Half right.

I still say Aldridge is vastly overrated. This series aside.

We shall see. Aldridge showed up for 3 games, Harden and Howard didn't.

I hate to quote Zach Lowe at this point, but I was mulling this exact point over (before reading it) the other day:

" In a macro vacuum, minimizing midrange jumpers is smart. Basketball in real life doesn’t always work that way. Some midrange shooters, including Aldridge, are so good when unguarded that it’s a fine shot — especially against analytically oriented defenses designed to encourage that exact shot.

But more that that, Aldridge’s midranger is the door opener for the juicier analytics shots. Portland’s other bigs get shots at the rim and offensive rebounds when their men rotate toward Aldridge. The Blazers get open 3s when teams send an extra defender at Aldridge’s pick-and-pops and post-ups."

B.S.? Truth?
I have no clue.

Aldridge is probably the most important or second most important factor in Portland coming away with the 5th seed in a packed conference with a legit shot at the second round.

I'll translate: You don't want him to be your primary scorer on a regular basis. He can't be poorly defended. The question then is how much value does he provide as basically an relatively impotent defense-shifter when properly guarded?

Also he's been hot at a bad time for us. What can you do?

I guess even tho something is bad statistically, if it's used right it's still great. First of all, having this as one of the threats is essential, secondly, in general it's low percentage but if a player can create a high percentage for himself it's even better than the other shots. I guess the minimization should be moderate rather than extreme in this case.

Yes they can. Take care of business at home and go up there for game 6...that game 6 would be a game 7 for the blazers. Rockets lead with under a minute in 3 of the 4 games, but loss all 3. Very close.

Aldridge is a star too...not some typical guy shooting midrange jumpers
