Exactly. ~lol~ at the ending of the article!

If you know this about Lin and you play him, then you are a gambling man yourself. The gamble is, either Lin messes up big time (e.g., series-losing TO) or Lin's going to win you the game (e.g., dagger three).

I think McHale didn't put Lin on Lillard, although Lin had been pretty decent on him, because McHale's not a gambling man.

That's why McHale, in general, dislikes Lin. He knows that Lin's a gambling man, and McHale's conservative. He wants the sure thing, even if the sure thing's kinda mediocre.

By the same token, McHale won't get this team anywhere near a ring. These playoffs have shown us that, to win in this league, you gotta gamble a little.

Agreed.

You definitely need to gamble a little to obtain tremendous success.

Fact of life, applicable in business investments too.

Maybe that's why he was only good for being second fiddle as a player? Sorta like Pips?

But it's good to raise Lin's bottom a little, it's really not good to bet the house you're living in.

McHale was an incredible power forward. That I'll never forget. All props to McHale as a player.

But he's like a lot of the NBA coaches. They play as safe as possible, 'fraid of losing job, face, whatever. But they tend to be really conservative. Still don't see a connection between McHale PF and McHale coach.

Well, Pips was a pretty good small forward, but when MJ was out, he couldn't lead the team to win big, same with McHale when Bird was injured.

A lot of coaches are like that, many mediocre ones, not all tho, certainly not Don Nelson, Pop and Pat Riley! Even tho Tex and the triangle is old stuff, it wasn't like any other team was using it. So we could also count Phil in.
