Ariza obviously is going too defend the opposing team best player (SG or SF) which is great for us seeing that Harden simply doen't play man to man defense.

Once Ariza gets comfortable, that play-making will return.

The wiz also benefited from TAs amazing defense on the best players in the league (bron & durant). TA was a great teammate and a true asset to wiz and I will continue to pull for him - except when he plays the wiz!

hell have a lot of open 3s here as well

Yeah harden taken those threes- but there doesn't appear to be a true set up man or a defined offense. The Houston offense seems to be give it to harden and watch the show or pass it to howard and pray like hell he can dunk it. Hate to say it but McHale appears to be a HOF player and a not so good coach- love McHale but wow he's no pop- ( wiz coach not much better but IS better)

That used to frequently be the case with Olajuwon as well. It's not an uncommon thing with a LOT of superstars, really.
Morey 2020.

Q:How are they experts when they're always wrong?

how many rockets games did you watch? harded created FOR others including parsons a lot of open 3s but they were missing them...
Fact is that momentum in games is a real thing, while not tangible itself, you can tangibly see the effect it has when teams are on runs and how it can dramatically effect the outcome of games when you can generate any momentum.

I watched a few rockets games because I love so many of the players. But you denying Harden is the definition of a gunner?

Old topic, but I just want to add that I'm really looking forward to having Ariza back on the roster. I think he'll be a great fit.

I suspect we will see quite a bit of Ariza playing 4. Maybe this crunch time lineup?

Bev
Troy Daniel
Harden
Ariza
Dwight

Why would Ariza play over Jones? Jones had a really good season and there is no reason to suspect he won't continue to improve.

Beverly
Harden
Ariza
Jones
Howard

I believe it will be up to Bev and/or Jones to prove they belong with the starting 5 as the Rockets pursue a trade to upgrade the positions.

Jones will continue to start. I was just talking about a possible 4th quarter lineup. Obviously we didn't get Carmelo or Bosh during free agency but through Morey's (failed)plans, we could see how much he still drools over a stretch 4 to complement Howard/Harden on the offensive end.

A total floor spacing lineup is imo still very much a part of our team. Ariza will have to make do until we acquire an upgrade.
Spoiler:
don't get me started on Dmo. You have to make shots in order to qualify as a stretch 4

I'm willing to trade DMO for a reserve center.

Return to Houston Rockets
