Mr. E's Post-Game Thoughts -
James Harden, Donatas Motiejunas, Wolverine...good play by these guys tonight!
This one was personal for a lot of people. Yeah, the Rockets didn't have their starting front court and yeah, the Mavs are on the backside of a back to back...but everyone came to play tonight. We were treated to some really good basketball tonight (with some real crap sprinkled in here and there).
I still maintain that Carlisle should have had a T for disrupting the game earlier. That was just dirty pool. End of the day it doesn't matter much and it will likely be something that he & McHale will laugh about every time they see each other from here 'til the end of time.
The Parsons drubbing of Motie should have been a flagrant, and I think that in the coming days it will be elevated to such. A lot of emotion involved in this game for Parsons. He has said some pretty crappy things about our town (not the team...our town), but he did seem appreciative of the salute to him from the Toyota Center guys. Despite all he has done he is definitely going to be playing the villain for the rest of his life as far as Houston goes. But hey, man - all the best villains start as friends or allies, right? I can't be the only one who saw Unbreakable.
As for the Harden/Chandler situation - While I do appreciate Harden's fire out of that, I do think that he did a disservice to himself and the team with that shove to Chandler after the (non) play. Yeah, Chandler fouled him hard...like, 80's level hard...but Tyson Chandler is not a dirty player and while that was a bad foul you could tell by his body language that it was not personal, nor dirty. I do think that he was legitimately surprised by Harden's reaction. One thing that I liked about Tyson Chandler in NY was that I could admit that I liked him as a player. Now that he's back in Dallas I just can't do that, obviously.
Motie is really developing well as a solid, all-around NBA player. That's what I want to end with. I am very happy with what we're seeing from the Lithuanian Sensation.
Very satisfying win.

Good win boys.
Harden cracked me up with acting like Chandler killed him on the forehead tap tho. He just can't help himself. Big play to win the game at the end tho.
I liked how chippy it was. I didn't like us getting sucked into a 3-pt shooting contest especially since no one was hitting them.
Mavs have a lot of work to do still. We can blow out bad teams, but we aren't getting it done against good teams.

.
Cmon now. Tyson gently tapped him on the head. And the Parsons play was just a good hard NBA foul. Neither of those plays were anything. Harden just did what he do.
The replay we got in Dallas on the Rick played showed JET having no chance to get that ball, but yeah that should have been a technical or something more than delay of game. Rick's done that before. Its smart since he gets away with it, but it shouldn't be allowed for sure.

Nothing gentle about Tyson Chandler smacking you in the face, even if it is incidental contact!

Like I said, I don't think that there was anything major there. I fault Harden for his reaction. This was a game where a one free throw difference could have made a difference, so Harden needs to just take that smack to the face and not go and create static after it.
Parsons' play had some emotion to it. That said, my reaction has some emotion to it so I won't act as if I'm without some bias here. I do think that the foul gets elevated in review.
I did love seeing Houston Rocket Legend Jason Terry lobbying so hard for the T vs. his former team with the Carlisle situation. That was just good TV!

Thanks for chiming in over here. Hopefully we will get to see both of our teams facing off at full strength the next time that we play!

Fact is that momentum in games is a real thing, while not tangible itself, you can tangibly see the effect it has when teams are on runs and how it can dramatically effect the outcome of games when you can generate any momentum.

I feel like the guys are fighting hard down two starters however I'm still stunned McHale hasn't found time for Canaan and Daniels. I believe in playing your entire roster but instead McHale is riding Terry into the ground.

Too much Garcia(who is awful) and Terry(who I still can't believe I am now a fan of) and not enough Canaan/Daniels, I agree.
Seriously, Canaan played less than 3 minutes last night. Daniels didn't play at all. Meanwhile, Garcia(who is awful) played almost 15(and was awful) and Terry played 25.
Between that and missing our starting front court, well, thank titties for vodka I guess.
We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.

I've heard about this video, but I haven't watched it. The last time I watched a video of a Dallas sports fan freaking out it was about the Cowboys and it left me with the impression that the man was about to hurt himself or others.
I don't see how they could feel cheated.

Good game Dallas, entertaining as usual.
This is just a little friendly trash talking for Chuck Texas, a guy I respect as a poster.

I'm sure we'll get similar if we lose next game, but I'll enjoy the moment for now.
