The conditional draft thing already happens in the NFL. For example, a player gets traded for a 4th round that increases to being a 2nd rd pick if that player starts all 16 games during the season or plays in at least 14 games in the season or makes the Pro Bowl or in some cases, the team makes the championship game or super bowl etc.

I saw that Shane Battier was taking a lot of flack for some comments he made about Carmelo Anthony.

I thought that they were pretty spot on. Melo hasn't evolved his game all that much, but he has been wildly successful despite that doing what he is good at doing.
