I kind of think Morey **** the bed with this. He KNEW point was his most vulnerable spot at the deadline and instead picked up KJ with Johnson already on the bench. Now there are two young SGs sitting way behind Harden and two old PGs trying to play heavy minutes.

And I don't think Canaan was the answer, but with everything else, I would have liked to see a point guard added who can stay in front of a guy. Prigs is nice, but he doesn't shoot enough.

Even a guy like Mario Chalmers would have been helpful at this point.

He didn't want to give up DMo in a deal for Dragic. Granted Goran's agent telling everyone he wouldn't re-sign here was a factor but that deal could have a big difference maker.
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

My thought was with Dragic going to Miami, why not try to pick up Chalmers who is a strong 3pt shooter and now being demoted. Instead he got Prigioni, which is fine, but he's not shooting. I think Chalmers actually fits pretty well.

I saw he was still in a cast on the bench.

Per WT

Houston Rockets guard Patrick Beverley had the cast removed on his surgically-repaired left wrist Monday and will examine smaller braces to test his capacity to play in the Western Conference Finals, league sources told RealGM.

Beverley has a strong desire to return to the Rockets’ lineup against the Golden State Warriors, and will test his left wrist in ball handling drills on Monday night, a step toward determining his status, a source said.

If Beverley returns, he would need to find a brace capable of protecting his wrist and allowing him to use his pain tolerance.

Beverley, 26, averaged 10.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 56 games this season. He suffered the wrist injury in late March.

Everything I hear is that we shouldn't expect him back this series at all so conflicting reports.

I'm not seeing it. Granted, it is his off-hand, but it just sounds too risky.

If he came back he'd be there purely for defense, I assume.

i don't see having Bev is going to help other than trying get into Curry skin
we need to defend the pick and roll better
which is DMo weakness (he can't defend pick and roll)
their best offense is Curry/Green running pick and roll
so Smith and Jones need to stay in front of Curry

Does anyone know if Bev has been practicing with the team as of late? If not, I don't see how he will be in shape to contribute in this series.

He's been with the team but not practicing, of course. I agree it will take some time to get his NBA legs back, but he could still be a weapon from the bench.

Always better to have the option than not.

My gut feeling is his agent is holding him back, but for his own benefit. I fully agree with that even if he is game ready. The guy came all the way back from Europe and gave his all to us, deserves a great contract. (skill challenge champion man!)

Having said that, I wouldn't mind him doing a 'David Lee minute' if we are up by big in game 4. Could be a morale boosting move.
