There is a lot more to basketball than "efficiency".
Yes, James Harden puts up good efficiency numbers, principally because he gets to the line so frequently. But basketball is about more than the efficiency numbers of individual players. Harden's individual effectiveness is predicated on him totally monopolising the ball. This results in his teammates being completely frozen out, and ultimately becoming disinterested on both ends of the floor. Throw in the fact that Harden often doesn't even bother getting in a defensive stance, let alone moving his feet, and you have a team leader that fails to inspire his teammates, ultimately resulting in a toxic atmosphere.
There is no doubt that Harden puts up spectacular numbers. But that is not correlating to winning.
