Rockets need to do something radical. No one expects them to win. Don't let Curry take many shots....double him every time even if it means letting Klay or Green open. If you lose, at least you don't let Curry beat you. Let Klay get his 40pts and go from there.

nothing really anymore...he has regressed since that one year...his 3pt shooting did show improvement this year, but hey, what does that have to do with defense right?...lol

Re: Rockets/Warriors First Round, Game One
I think Terry should only play minutes when Steph Curry isn't on the court. Otherwise PB or KJ should guard Steph. Harden guards small forward whether I-G-G-Y, Barnes, or Rush.
The consensus is that Brewer should be phased out of the rotation, or at the very least given less minutes, but while we're on the topic of SF's...do we really need Ariza this much? I'm trying to find this supposed elite defense that he has. Looking at it objectively and not going just on past reputation, he seems like an average defender and below average offensively. Don't see why he should be getting so many minutes. Would be cool to see Beasley play some SF, especially since their front court 3-4 depth is lacking offense so I don't see an issue with Michael freakin' Beasley defending those dudes.
Anyway, I would run the rotation like this going forward..
PG - Beverley (30) Terry (10) Harden (8)
SG - Harden (30) McDaniels (18)
SF - Ariza (30) Beasley (10) Brewer (8)
PF - D-Mo (24) Smith (16) Beasley (8)
C - Howard (32) Capela (16)
This would leave us with Beverly/McDaniels guarding Steph 100% of the time, and Brewer/Ariza guarding Thompson 100% of the time. Barnes/IGGY are defended by Harden/Beasley, D-Mo and J-Smith cover Green, and Howard and Capela do their thing at center.
No more Jason Terry on Curry, please. No more Brewer for 20+ minutes. We need him to spell Ariza defensively for a few minutes a night, that's it. PLEASE START DMO. Draymond "arm bar" Green cannot defend him in the post without fouling and that's a legitamate offensive weapon we can use. Dramond's offense is way overrated and is a product of Curry/Thompson so I'll live with the occasional time he is able to drive past Motiejunas.

I call bull. Bev is a very good on ball defender and always follows through on rotation. Considering it's basically impossible to defend at the point in the NBA, he's one of the leagues best.
I'm still upset Motiejunas didn't play much at all. Stupid.

because the coach is stupid
you can't play small with GSW
you have to make GSW to always have one center on the floor
his only chance is to make Howard/DMo lineup click again
idk what he is doing when he start DMo for few min and sit him down again

I would consider expanding D-Mo's minutes. The guy did a pretty decent job against Green given his short PT. D-Mo can make Green work on defense.

the only annoying thing about the warriors is green...fake tough guy....other than that, the other players are cool. i do agree with TMU, that DMo should play more in the post. Make Green work a lot more on defense.

I agree but it's dumb and Motie needs to rotate in asap. Play BIG and force GS to adjust. I want to outrebound them and get tons of points in the paint. Obviously Houston is not going to win in a perimeter contest.

Yeah you can't out-small the Warriors. You're just playing into what they're best at. Especially when you're going small with Brewer. Dmo looked good and he helps when the offense stagnates because (although he's been shooting a lot lately) he's a great ball-mover and passer.

Re: Rockets/Warriors First Round, Game One
The Warriors can go small because Green can guard centers well because of his long wingspan. They force the other team into offenses that don't suit them well. If you leave your center in we beat them on quickness We may give up a few rebounds and easy shots but overall it works out quite well when they play that swarming defense.
