Thank God i survived this flood with my life and property intact ! The worst is over for me, but there are still so many people affected. Once the dust settles, i will be out volunteering to help those who are in need at my community. I suggest you guys do the same if possible.

My girl is taking me to volunteer at some old folks home tomorrow that apparently is in dire need of help

I have so many people that I grew up with that I have a new found respect for cause they're out right now with their boats helping out...made me feel guilty and ready to volunteer tomorrow

Glad you guys are safe. The devastation is far worse than I had imagined. Thankfully my family is okay and no one in my immediate family suffered any harm or property damage. Unfortunately there are thousands of people out there that lost their homes and vehicles. Can't imagine what they're going through right now.

There are 2 shelters in my area that need supplies and volunteers. Hopefully I will be out there tomorrow to help.

Glad to hear you're all OK. Just watching news on it and it's unreal.

My old workmates from the med center were volunteering at the convention center past couple days. They were saying how people were sleeping on cardboards as they ran out of makeshift beds.

The real cost of the storm won't be known until the water recedes. Apparently 80% of people don't have flood insurance.

Has anyone seen D-Mo the backstabber fighting fire ants by any chance?

I hereby retract my statement regarding the fire ants as I've been duped to believe by the dishonest lying media that D-Mo did a runner on the national team whereas in fact he was attending the birth of his newborn, which I suppose makes him an American citizen.

Oh and this...

Came back earlier from a day of helping a couple of relatives clean out their flooded homes. The smell was so foul. We had to use a lot of bleach, then documenting(pics) of furniture, etc. for insurance purposes. Moving dry house items to middle of house, so contractors can start tearing sheet rock, throwing out furniture, carpet, etc. Then sorting through to see what items are salvageable or not. My legs and back are sore, but that is such a small price to pay.

Dude...next time just don't make a **** comment like that. If you have a problem at another forum then take it to that forum and don't waste our time here.

This one has been tough. I hope that everyone is doing well, and for everyone who has been affected that we can all help each other to get through this.

Ah, the small font comment isn't very important, the big font one is totally sincere.

*Sorry, albeit very small, there might be overlaps

I hope you all are doing well. Finally helped finish cleaning for my relatives with their flooded homes. I will be volunteering next week at a local shelter. On a slightly different note, have you seen this?

I can only hope and pray for safe recovery for Texas and now Florida as they will be going through their own fierce storm.

Sorry I haven't been around much, guys. Everything is getting back to somewhat normalcy around my parts.
