Re: How much to keep Motiejunas?
No way D-Mo gets 15M/year offer. His injury history is sketchy and last year, although recovering, looked slow and not that great. I hope he goes back to his form from 2 years ago...but putting that kind of money on a guy on the hopes that he reverts to his previous level of play based on a one season sample is more than risky.
But hey, it's 2016 and the NBA contracts are pretty cray cray these days.

It sounds like he's not playing in the Olympics.
I'm not finding any news about the guy this offseason. Are there any teams interested? Is it just assumed around the League that Houston will match any offer?

not many team with cap space left
Miles Plumlee get 52/4
maybe fan overrated DMo
DMo is pretty much a PF who can't rebound (below average rebounder for PF) but can score inside and out

Thank you! Please keep us up to date with anything that you know. It's frustrating for me because while I follow events in that part of Europe closely I do not speak Lithuanian or Polish, so I feel like I'm missing some news involving Motiejunas.

Re: How much to keep Motiejunas?
We have to be planning to retain him, which makes Anderson signing all the weirder
I would think neither Anderson nor d-mo wants to have second unit minutes even though I'm assuming d-mo is gonna be center most of the time which in turn makes the nene signing puzzling
Very weird offseason, here's to hoping glove part deaux makes the team

Aren't we at fourteen now after nanu and dmo would be 15 Maybe Payton to the vipers.
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

Meh, we still need a backup 4 because Beasley is not good. Also need a third center, as we don't know if Clint is ready for huge minutes and Nene is oft injured and Dmo is both of those things.
GP2 was not very good in summer league at all, we would have to cut someone to bring him in, like Beasley, which I'm in favor of but even then I'd rather keep a spot open or trade for a Jazz point guard than sign GP from what I've seen

Oh yeah, my wanting glove2 is purely just because of how the original is my favorite athlete of all time
I just hope some stupid team doesn't offer a max to d-mo because at this point I think we'd be forced to match

Oh, Fair enough lol Maybe he will show something in camp. I don't think that would happen, worst case scenario he gets something close to what Plumlee got imo. The dangerous teams with nothing to lose, like the nets, have already filled out their rosters with over 15 guys for the most part

Phily $24 million cap space - they already have Noel, Embiid, Okafor, Ben Simmons and Dario Saric so probably not here
Denver $18.8 million cap space - Have Faried, Arthur, Jokic, Nurkic and Lauvergne so probably not here
Brooklyn $16.7 million cap space - Have only Lopez, Scola and Trev Booker. Very strong possibility Nets make an offer. D-Mo can play with his idol Scola and reunite with Lin. Does Morey match at this price?
Phoenix $13.2 million cap space - Have only Alex Len, Tyson Chandler and 2 rookies in Bender and Chriss so another strong possibility of Suns making offer but I think Morey matches on this.
Utah Jazz $10 million cap space - Have Favors, Gobert, Diaw, Lyles. I think Jazz could make an offer to DMo but Morey quickly matches.
So likely one of Nets, Suns or Jazz make an offer

I think that Morey would match that Brooklyn offer if it is for that amount.

Re: How much to keep Motiejunas?
Utah already has too many players on the roster and I think phx does too (but they probably have some guys they'd be willing to cut) you also left out Dudley who is a four now for Pheonix and I'm sure they want as much time available for their Rookies as possible. I think Brooklyn is the only threat to offer a dumb deal. It seems like Dmo saying he's been talking to other teams is a leverage move because nothing has leaked and he hasn't left Houston lol

My guess with absolutely no inside information is something will get done with the Rockets around 3 years 30 mil or 4 years 35ish mil

The longer this lasts I think he might just play for the qualifying offer hoping to prove he is healthy and can cash in next summer.

Re: How much to keep Motiejunas?
Calvin Watkins was on the new Locked on Rockets podcast yesterday and says he thinks Houston and Dmo will get something done as he wants to come back and they want him back. Holdup is Dmo is waiting for some other team to give him some leverage for a better deal but none are coming around. I don't think he wants to do a one year deal because he knows his back is a risk

Maybe nets are waiting for Morey to go on vacation. They really need help at power forward and center though.

Is this the same Watkins who a few months ago said Dmo is 100% gone and hates it in Houston? Funny how Howard and his toxic attitude is gone and now a lot of those guys who were unhappy are wanting to stay?

I wasn't aware he said that, Calvin is a little bit unreliable though so he might've been wrong or he might be wrong now, he's no Feigen lol
