LMAO, Spurs almost beat the Heat. They were up 98-97 with 1:05 left in the 4th!

You can always count on Popovich to give the league the middle finger.

Gotta love it.
I get more entertainment out of that than I could out of 90% of games.
Morey 2020.

Q:How are they experts when they're always wrong?
A:Ask a stock market analyst or your financial advisor

The penalty talk is ridiculous. If teams are going to be sanctioned for sitting their starters during the middle of the season, then they are going to be sanctioned for sitting their starters towards the end. Sometimes you just shut down players for a stretch as a form of minutes management.

Pops will always try and field a competitive product. Punishing the model small market franchise for doing the smart thing is stupid.

And it's not like Pops hasn't done this before. Stern wouldn't have made a big deal if the Spurs were playing a team with no marketable star. I can see how the fans can be frustrated and perhaps cheated, but Stern responding to this is absolutely absurd.

Anyone ever considered the other perspective? That this gives his 2nd unit and other players - the chance to season themselves against the elite ~ that this experience will give them even more confidence and give them perspective on where they are and what they have to work on?

Like you all I was shaking my head - but the more I thought about it the more I realized what an awesome opportunity it was for the Spurs as a team.

Its just too bad for ratings and the gambling line ;p haha.

Yeah, they're top 5 in the league in DRTG. And they have some good shooting, and a decent bench.

Duncan with 27/15/4 in a win...it's lookin like it's 2003 with him. In fact, Duncan would be top 5 in my MVP and DPOY ballot (so far into the season). In fact, who has a better case than Duncan (again, SO FAR) for DPOY? His activity level has been awesome (his offensive game looked good even last season, but defensively he wasn't as good as he's been this season), and I think that's indicative in the Spurs being 5th in DRTG.

And...wtf is up w/ Varejao. 18.5/18.7 the last four games...and like 20/17 last three. He should be an all-star (15/15 on the season with good passing). Another guy who has been beasting; to a lesser extent obviously, is Larry Sanders. Double doubles and premiere shot blocking.

According to efficiency http://www.hoopsstats.com/ we have two top 5 position players.

Harden is 2nd behind Kobe.
Parsons is 5th, very far behind his darker half, & Durant... then Melo and AK47

Thought it was cool then noticed David Lee is the 3rd best PF... is he even the best pf on his team!?!

individual efficiency stat is overrated
best to look at the 5 on the floor playing together

OT
WT: Pietrus To Take Minutes Away From Ross
seriously?
Ross been doing great
why play Pietrus over Ross?
let the rookie play
they are not going to the playoff anyway
either suck more and keep the top 3 pick
don't stuck in 4-6 place and give it to OKC

Return to Houston Rockets
