Re: The Offseason
I wouldn't have minded a flyer on Deng to see what he has, but despite what the doomsayers think, there won't be room for many projects in the Rockets lineup this season.

Re: The Offseason
With Golden State being as stacked as ever, I applaud Morey for making all these low risk-high reward moves. We have lost key players, but I have no doubt that at least 2 of these new acquisitions will pan out. Looking forward to another great season.

Re: The Offseason
Speculation is that Suns would buy out Ariza after the all-star break and the Rockets could sign him before the playoffs.

Seems so sudden.
Hope all is well with him.
EDIT:
After doing a little research I see that he has apparently been contemplating it for at least a year now and finally felt he was no longer up for the grind. Didn't want to just go through the motions and collect a check.
Bzdelik, 65, had been weighing whether to return for a third season on Mike D’Antoni’s staff throughout the summer, reaching his decision this weekend, an individual with knowledge of the decision said. He had been uncertain about taking on the demands and time away from family of another season.
Given his age and with over three decades in the NBA, I can certainly understand.
I wish him well in retirement.

I figured when I first saw he was retiring so abruptly that it must be health related, so it's good to hear that isn't necessarily the case.
Health and family should always come first, so I can't help but respect his decision even if the timing sucks. Still, it's sad to see him go.
As a fan, I also selfishly hope this won't have too much of a negative affect on the defense, but we already got Melo for that anyways...
We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.

Rather not if it also involves Tucker.

Re: The Offseason
don't think the wolves would be interested in tucker anyways. he is over 30 yrs old. wolves will likely wait till later in the season and rockets will be eligible to trade two young players like knight and marquis. zhou would likely be dangled. even for a rental, i think morey would make a serious effort to get butler come oct. 31st.

Re: The Offseason
The talent level would undoubtedly be overwhelming but idea of adding Jimmy Butler would raise some chemistry concerns for me.

I don't think that he'd be happy here. He seems deadset on NY or LA, and I don't think that he'd be OK being Option #3 on a championship team.

He's not happy in Minnesota. I don't know how he can be happy playing behind Harden and CP3. I surely don't know how he will end up in Clippers playing with Kyrie and/or Kawhi.

Re: The Offseason
He probably wants to go to a team who will give him a max deal.
If he is traded to a team only interested in a rental, that is letting him walk in free agency, he’ll take a hit on the contract won’t he, vs. being traded to a team which would use his Bird rights to max him out?
