awesome thread-title-to-op-elaboration you got there brah

didnt u make a thread guaranteeing we'd get melo or bosh? i think it was last offseason or some **** i cant remember

but no no its cool, i trust you. im gonna put all my trust, in you. why wouldnt i, after all, hayden is your love destiny, amirite or amirite? imrite i know i am im always rite. when you roll with me, the price is always right, regardless of how many times you hear someone say "the price is wrong bitch". that is a false statement, the price is never wrong. the price is always right, i dont care what ANYONE says. right is right and wrong is wrong, and im right, and thats that. the end.

there, i did my job. so no blame can be placed upon me. i am blame-free. oh what was that? did u just say all this was my fault? no no no, see that can't be true, cuz i did my job and i did it well. so you cant blame me this time. nope, not this time. maybe someone else sure you can blame whoever, but not me. i did my job correctly. i am blame-free. that means you cant blame me, at all.

Ok. Cool story bro.

I think the Rockets will be able to get the center they want, if they can secure Dwight Howard, Andrew Bynum is nice consolation prize. Trade Kevin Martin, Patrick Patterson, Marcus Morris, Royce White, Jeremy Lamb, 3 Future 1st Round Picks from DAL, MEM & TOR for Dwight Howard & Glen Davis followed by securing Courtney Lee back along with Asik being signed, they'll still be able to make a deal with the Magic for D12.. They'll be set for one year and could really make noise next year.

PG - J. Lin/S. Livingston
SG - C. Lee/T. Douglas
SF - C. Parsons/T. Jones
PF - D. Montiejunas/G. Davis
C - D. Howard/O. Asik

That's a solid team I believe.

I would keep Lamb too but I don't see how the Magic wouldn't ask for him, Lamb can play.

Baller 24 wrote:Let's see what happens, if he can play similar to his Feburary run when he led the Knicks to a 10 game winning streak, getting them INTO playoff contention, before Melo. This would be a solid acquisition. I mean you don't just go an entire month with MONSTER performances like that and create an impact of that nature out of nowhere.

Umm no, IF you get the Lin from his february run for this contract it would not be a "solid acquisition" it would be the mother of all steals. His play alone would make the 25m over 3years look like peanuts, factor in that he would then still keep riding the linsanity wave all around the world and you would be looking like someone that invested into google when other investors though it was a firm about glasses (which it soon will be :wink).

As a Knick fan I hope he tears it up for you guys (except when he plays against us of course).

Baller 24 wrote:Agreed. I'm not going to make an official decision on this signing until after the season progresses. But in an isolated system where he'd the primary ball-handler, we've only seen good things. Also a good thing that we don't have any other ball-dominant players, that was the problem when Carmelo Anthony arrived. Lamb is a player that plays beautifully off the ball, really reminds me of a mini-KD in that sense. Parsons and D-Mo are both players that again don't dominate the ball, it'll be interesting to see how he'll transcend.

me too. silky smooth. i have high hopes for Lamb and have been v impressed w/ him so far in SL.

looks like you might just have a very promising back-court on your hands. add to that White, Parsons, and the Rockets become a team to watch on League Pass this year.

edit:

re: Lin

perfect spot for all us to see what 'we' have in Lin. this is certainly a much better place for him to develop than NYK. i think he might have *it*, but i agree w/ Manhattan Project that it will be interesting to see how his body/play holds up over a full schedule. he is most definitely up there with the best in the biz at getting to the rim, contorting his body and finishing, from what i saw last year.

I'm so happy we got Lin . Not impressed with machado or any of the summer lg pgs. Thank god we dont have toney douglas running pt for us. Thank u morey n knicks. Lin would be a beast with either Bynum or d12 ..
Lin is a better closer than dragic. Lowry I like, but he messed up by arguing with Michale. Mchales a player coach, don't argue with him. I'd say Lin is a better team player. Hopefully he becomes a great player for us

Hey guys , Knick fan here. Just wanted to say congrats on getting Lin. Great great character and I'm pulling for him to be able to develop further and improve his game. Like I said earlier, in a worst case scenario you guys overpaid by 1-2mill. per year. During Linsanity he averaged around 18/9---after Woodson took over he averaged 13/5. Contrary to what some may say his defense is ok--not great but not a liability either. His court vision is pretty good (contrary to what some may say it is NOT great). His shot is also not bad really--imo his shooting mechanics are pretty good and I actually think he'll develop into a good shooter down the road. His athleticism , for a starting NBA PG, is above average but nowhere near the top. Overall you get a good player who at worst is worth 6mill. a year but definitely has a chance to prove to be a bargain. For the Knicks, paying up to 45mill.in his third year and an average of around 20mill. per year to keep Lin---it just wasn't worth it I guess. Felton, who IMO is worse than Lin in every area of the game except defense , made just much more sense from a financial standpoint for the Knicks.

Overall I'd say Lin's worst case scenario is being a solid NBA starting PG and at best he is gonna be an all-star(I don't think he'll ever develop into a superstar to be honest). Anyways, for you guys it definitely was a risk worth taking and a good move by Morey. Good luck.

Is anyone familiar with Lin's contract? There's conflicting reports about how much he actually gets paid and the cap hit.

Ken Berger ‏@KBergCBS
For those who think you know this stuff better than me, the Rockets do have to pay Jeremy Lin $14.9M in '14-'15. This is a fact.

Ken Berger ‏@KBergCBS
Lin counts against the Rockets' cap the average of the three-year, $25.1M contract. But they still pay him $15M in year three.

23s Ken Berger ‏@KBergCBS
What Hou pays Lin and what he counts against cap are two different things. For Knicks, cap hit and salary would've been i-(clap)-dentical.

He gets paid his actual contract (5/5/15 mill) whether NY matched him or not. As an Arenas rule RFA, the cap hit treated differently for whether he switches teams or stays with the same team. For us, he's changing teams, his cap hit for us is a regular, average 8 mill per year (8/8/8) even though we're paying him the poison pill deal. If he were matched by the Knicks, they would have paid him (5/5/15) AND it would have counted (5/5/15) against their cap.

The deal had to be structured this way with the artificially low $5mill/year first two years, since NY is over the cap, they have to use their early-bird rights (MLE value) on Lin to give them the option to match, and thats where the huge jump in 3rd year salary comes in. In NY's case, since they have a ton of overpaid players, that entire $15mill is going to be luxury taxed in yr 3, whereas its relatively inconsequential to us since we likely won't approach that payroll.

I won't be happy with all the Lin "fanboys" being around. That is going to suck.

I am happy we have sorted our PG situation though. I think he has upside as a player, IS going to improve, and will also be fun to watch. In saying this, he might make us mediocre again, which will definately suck.

What I do love, is that Morey has once again made NYK his bitch. Seriously, Morey should be listed as a sex offender, because he constantly rapes NYK. It's like he's in for a long stretch in prison, and Dolan is a repeat offender that keeps coming back to the prison yard, and is made to bendover by Morey.......

Dolan must like it. Otherwise he wouldn't keep coming back for more.

And the kicker is, Morey never uses Lube either.  :lol

Now he DOES need to re-sign Lee. I think that should actually be his next major priority (Besides offloading Martin!) Let MoJu hold down the middle, stuff getting Asik also. Let's play young, fast basketball.

And stuff Dwight, who needs him? I said it before. I only want players that want to be here. Same goes for you Lin "Fanboys" I first got into NBA Basketball in '92 I knew I didn't want to be a mindless Bull's fan, like most people were. I started following God, I mean Olajuwon. I started supporting the Rox, and have been un-waveringly (Is that a word?) loyal to the Franchise ever since.

So you were a hakeem fanboy with no connection to Houston and somehow that makes you better than fans of Lin? Makes a lot of sense.

Lolz
Morey calls in apologizes for the McGrady trade, says he gonna help Knicks get Lin on a good contract.

Knicks estatic and when Morey calls claiming to help them acquire Camby, but needs a lot in return, because you know how he help them get Lin. The knicks say sure no problem Mr. Morey...

Morey gets what he wants then increases Lin contract offer.
