Honoestly, our PNR defense is atrocious, and thats mainly because its rafer whos not strong or quick enough to defend the pnr. Yao is forced to help because rafer cant keep up.

You're crazy man a PG is not going to fight through a screen set by a center. Rafer is our best defender at the position, bar none. I'm saying that if the opposing center is a good midrange shooter and gets hot Yao should stay up on him and force him to drive. Mix it up in terms of him driving and shooting, it's basic defensive principles.

I'm not so sure about that. It looked like Durant had a bad angle from behind the basket and was attempting a floater with T-Mac in front of him. Not an easy shot by any stretch.

Still it was a very good win. A comeback win which is a rarity for the Rockets even in past seasons. On the road no less.

In reality winning this way probably is a blessing in disguise because it exposed a lot of weaknesses of the team that the coaching staff will no doubt address and hopefully correct. Similar to when we almost blew our lead in the first game of the season in LA, right after they worked on their inbounds play and it hasn't been a problem since.

Luke burned Rafer on all those KT pick and rolls, it was just so easy for him.

It's easy to point out the flaws. It's harder to come up with the solution. Any of our guards would've got burned in that scenario.

On a side note did you guys see Durant after that game. Looked like he was about to cry he wanted to win so bad. The whole bench practically got up to console him. Felt sorry for him but he's going to be so good in a couple of years. A poor man's T-Mac now, a rich man's T-Mac later.

I don't think Durant will be able to finish at the rim like T-mac, but he's going to be very good.

Yao played good tonight, made some great plays, but I think it was Tracy McGrady that brought us back, and did what he had to do. He played great in this game, and did what he had to help us win.

There's no real solution, we've been at the mercy of good PNR teams for a while now.

You're right, there is no stopping a properly run pick and roll. Stockton and Malone have shown that.

But Shaq is just as bad as Yao at guarding the pick and roll (arguably worse, because he sometimes doesn't give 100% on D) and the Lakers won 3 championships. It is possible to overcome this weakness.

Well I wasn't expecting my Sonics to win, but losing in the fashion they did stings a bit.

All in all an exciting game. Sonics have had their fare share of blow outs but they have had a lot of close games like this one where they just can't get that last hoops. Oh well add a few more ping pong balls for Derrick Rose.

And lastly McTracy you complain entirely too much about the refs.

Rockets had 26 ft attempts Sonics had just one more at 27.

Plus I didn't see you complaining about the refs when Landry blasted through K Thomas and there was a no call. Which resulted in a Tmac 3ball.

True, regardless of our PNR defense, we've still been a very solid defensive team.

What a win, coming into that fourth quarter we were 1-15 when down entering the fourth quarter and were down 13 with just over 5 minutes to go.

I have no idea what to think about McGrady lol. About to cap off a magnificent comeback with the step-back three, and the banker off the glass and then missed the two FT's. Can't fault him too much, since we wouldn't have been close to that position without him. 28, 4, 5 only 1 TO on 13-23.

Yao did a great job getting to the line and converting. 14-15 from the line, and also had 12 rebounds. Really him and McGrady came to play.

This was a vintage Rafer Alston game from last season. Shot a horrible percentage but hit a good percentage from three (5-9) and hit the clutch shot to give us the four point lead.

Great comeback win, as ugly as it was. I seriously was so disgusted, I wanted to turn the game off and just go off on a rant here haha.

This game was too close for comfort against a horrible team...

I'd also like to thank the Rockets for winning because it makes me and Vator's job a lot easier for the rest of the night :)

The difference was Shaq's LA team had a very prolific offense to make up what they gave on D. That's why IMO JVG would've never been able to take this squad far into the playoffs. When they face the elite guards out west they will murder with the high PNR and there's nothing Yao can do about it other than try to score on the other end. JVG needs a big man who can trap the PNR as his defense is designed that way.

This is Yao's 4th game so far this season with 6 assists. Last season he didn't achieve 6 assists in one game ONCE...not once. That's pretty amazing, especially considering that our shooters this season haven't been as sharp as they were a year ago.

A rich mans Mcgrady? Is he going to have a 35/8/8/2/2 season or something?

IMO Durant is way too skinny to be compared to Mcgrady - he doesn't have close to the athletic ability Mcgrady had coming into the league. He doesn't drive nor handle the ball as well - he's just lankier.

With this win, my prediction of 8-2 run since the loss to Celtics has come true. Gave myself a pat on my back

Another 10 games before ASG. A 9-1 or 8-2 run will be great. 23-19 => 32-20 (or 31-21). Yes I am optimistic :D

Great win for us.

This game was a perfect example showing just how valuable Tmac is to this team.
