Calderon has deep negative value and is trash now. Absolutely trash. He is nothing more than a salary dump. The Bulls had to trade two seconds to get off his contract and got nothing in return. Bev is a capable starter if the team has creation at other positions like we do on a cheap deal that has an unguaranteed last year. I don't think you watch teams besides the Rockets and go off of names and past reputation

Nope you just underrate our players. Bev is not a capable starter in say, Dallas, Charolette, New Orleans. But he is for Houston. Would be for Utah if they didn't get Hill. Would be for Cleveland (if Kyrie didn't exist). He's a low usage 3&D guard. His D isn't what it used to be but it's solid. Calderon is just bad. So bad. That tells me you haven't really watched the Knicks for two years.

If you spend more time on the trade boards you could get an idea of what other guys value our players as. That's what I use. Everyone knows Beverley has at least a slight positive value. You have to give up assets to trade Calderon.

He's a real point guard. Maybe the triangle was not a good fit. He was still good with the mavericks two years ago. Anyway he's an expiring deal vs Beverley and his three more seasons. I don't trust Patrick handling the ball. I'm not even saying Calderon should start. I think Gordon should. But we need a true pg on the team.

Regardless trading bev for him would not be a good trade unless we got incentive. Bev is a better player at this point

For all his vaunted defense, Shawn Livingston and barbosa killed him in April. Don't want to be stuck with him for three more years.

You do know that he's being paid like an end of the rotation player under the new cap and the last year is unguaranteed right? His deal is an absolute steal now with the cap spike

The last time Calderon was good was his Toronto days and even then he was not all that good. He is not a upgrade in any regard what so ever. Yes Bev is not a starter on a good NBA but doesn't mean you trade him for a far lesser player because you just don't like him. By the way Bev was solid from the three point line and still a above average defensive player player.
