Wow I didn't know POR plays at the 2nd slowest pace in the L. Surprising really. Works to our advantage as our transition D is not very good.
Our biggest advantage is Yao as they have a thin frontcourt. We should be able to make a living on the boards. Landry should get some good burn this game as POR does not have much of a post-up game to exploit him. We Landry's athleticism this game for sure.
If the effort is not there guarding the 3-pt line well we are toast. POR makes their living executing in the half court for open 3's.

Here is a little local scouting for you guys.
Przybilla starts both the 1st and 3rd quarters, but really only plays about 20 minutes
Jones and Blake are #'s 1 and 6 respectively in 3 pt shooting. Outlaw also shoots 39%, Webster shoots 37%, Jack 34% and Roy 33%
Aldridge and Frye are both in huge shooting slumps
Portland plays 10 guys every night. 11 probably tonight with Yao in town. (Raef LaFrentz)
We play at a slow pace, but we push the ball up the floor. If there is no easy shot we simply use the shot clock.
Portland is second in the league overall in 3 pt shooting %, 9th in FT % and 11th in FG %
Portland is 12th in team assists, 24th in rebounds per game, 20th in blocks per game and dead last in steals per game
Portland is 7th in TO's per game, 8th in both fouls commited and foul outs per game
Portland is 8th in the league when they score 100 points and 12th in the league when their opponent scores 100 points
Good luck the rest of the season

Thanks for the information, and same to you.
Looks like we're going to have our hands full all night as we BETTER keep Portland away from the 3 pt line. Yao should have an advantage all night because if Pryzbilla is guarding him then that works in favor of our defense, and anyone else on the Blazers probably isn't strong enough. I did not know that Portland was 17-3 at home...that's amazing. A road win in Portland would be a huge statement for our team right now. Go Rockets.

See this is why Yao must be in the low post and fed the ball consistently tonight. The matchups are in his favor. Adelman needs to get his head out of his ass and stop putting Yao at the elbow. I think we sunk into a deficit against Seattle in the second quarter because as Snapper Jones put it, "Yao was Shaq-like in the first quarter and in the second quarter they just lost him." He was stuck at the elbow, by Adelman's (Please Use More Appropriate Word) design. This needs to change.

I have to work tonight, d@@@it.
But when I get home, the 1st thing I'll check is Yao's shot attempts. If he gets fewer than 22, I'll know we lost.
Yao = our glaring advantage.
Guard play = Portland's glaring advantage.
C'mon, Adelman. Do the math. Get Yao his touches in places where he can do something with the ball..

Don't expect a win tonight. This is a confident Blazer team that plays extremely well at home. We'll have a shot if everyone plays well. Yao and McGrady as well as the role players and bench must do what they do well. If we are inconsistent throughout we are gonna lose. We gotta start well and try to keep the crowd out of it as much as possible. Defense has to be good on Roy b/c he starts everything and we gotta attack them offensively.

Their bench is fantastic, their backup PG is better than any PG on our roster, Outlaw would start on this team as well and other solid guys like Jones (leading three point shooter in the league) and Frye that can hurt you.
For some reason I though WE were at home, but just saw we are playing on the road where they are a crazy 17-3. That really puts a different perspective I had coming into this game.
