Re: The OT Thread
Good news errbody, eight legged freaks is on syfy channel
How this movie didn't win an Oscar for best original screenplay, best leading actor (David arquette is truly the Laurence Olivier of our generation), best actress (don't know her name but she's as ugly for a leading actress as her acting is terrible), best supporting actor (little kid is a true treasure, as is the bald deputy), best supporting actress- Scarlett johannsen...so weird seeing her as an odd tween because I find her so incredibly sexy and she doesn't look good as a tween.. Beyond me, movies like this are ClASSICS on godfather pt 2, apocalypse now, and terminator 2 level....
Seriously, I jest, but god I love campy movies like this. Evil dead remake was awful, though....wasn't scary enough, wasn't campy enough, wasn't good enough, no boobs...

Re: The OT Thread
And for the record my top 10 movies are 1) a scanner darkly (always #1) 2a) the royal tenenbaums 2b) stalag 17 3) burn after reading 4) rocknrolla 5) the thin red line 6) leaving Las Vegas 7) apocalypse now 8) zombieland 9) taxi driver 10) lucky number slevin
Wow typing that out I don't have enough of Tarantino or scorscese represented (only 1 and its martins)
Also honorary top 10 because it was my grandfathers favorite and I loved it as a kid, el dorado with John Wayne

Re: The OT Thread
Should also have dawn of the dead and menace 2 society as top 10 potential, both are cheesy but for some reason I really like both those movies a lot
Actually I would rank dawn of the dead over lucky number slevin at the moment
I'm drunk and that list is very fluid

Re: The OT Thread
Given how much people discuss movies these days, I'm shocked we don't have a movie rating thread.
I'ma have to make a list soon, but i can safely say that Network is on it.

Parts of that movie are great, but I wouldn't put it in my top 20....after watching that movie (I think it was you that plugged it on here and inspired me to watch it) I searched for footage of that newscaster that shot herself on camera that was part of the inspiration for the movie for a few minutes before I realized I was searching for real videos of a lady killing herself, and I remembered i couldn't sleep well for a few weeks after I saw that old video of the camera man that had his head cut off by al Qaeda? (Some terrorist organization)

12 angry men made me a bit giddy.
Dog day afternoon made me a bit sad.
Network made me die a little inside.
And then Find me guilty restored my faith in humanity a little bit. Lumet was so good that he managed to make Vin Diesel act like he was acting.
Of all the movies that adapted Phillip K Dick works, I find A Scanner Darkly is the runaway best of all. Certainly the rotoscope effect was particularly suited, but the source material is just _so_ good.

Re: The OT Thread
Draft tonight
With Andre pleading for a first round wide receiver and Walter being cut...no where else we can really go, right?
I wouldn't mind minter from lsu at all and a second round wr if the good ones all somehow get snatched before us
I'd put this in the texans forum but seriously no one ever visits there until football season (or that's how it was in the past, didn't even check today)

Wish we traded down but happy got Hopkins since I thought he would not have been there

Re: The OT Thread
I hope Arthur Brown is there late in the 2nd but if he slips past 15 I think the Texans should trade up to get him but if they stay at 27 I think they can get a Minter or Manti, which I would not mind getting there in that spot. I really think they will have good pickings for the defensive pass rush since I believe the QBs, WRs, and RBs, will be taken in the beginning of the 2nd

Re: The OT Thread
happy we took Hopkins over Patterson
No way teo is there next round. If no one else does New England will pick him with minnys 2nd.
I would love for minter to fall to us next round. I really like him. I don't see it happening, though. If he's gone and somehow honey badgers still available because of his off field shiz, I wouldn't mind taking him since he's moving to corner, apparently. He's still short, but hell ill take a chance on him

Re: The OT Thread
I think in the beings of the 2nd a lot of the offensive skill positions will be taken early so one of the three in Minter, Teo, or Brown will fall to us or be in a good spot to trade up to get him. I really was Brown and from what I hear he can play all linebacker spots. I do not want the Honey badger in the 2nd but if he is there in the 3rd with one of our 2 picks then hell yes. Would not mind if we went safety in the 2nd if John Cyprien or DL with likes of Damontre Moore, Jesse Williams (Big Body), or Cornellius Carradine being there. Not worried about the New England since the have Spike and Mayo in the inside I think they need secondary or pass rush more then anything. Bear and Ravens are the problems.

Re: The OT Thread
I just can't see belly and co not taking someone that good if he's available that low
They're too smart and would figure out a way to use all of them, I really cannot see pats passing up on first round talent that low
But ya, i was surprised as hell the bears and vikes both passed on teo. When vikes traded back in I thought for sure it was for teo
But I think ogletree is gonna be better than teo brown and minter. If Hopkins and Patterson were both gone I would have been plenty happy taking ogletree

Re: The OT Thread
Arthur brown right before us...didn't like him as much as u Zapatas but still don't know who else I want here other than a reach on Matthieu...no other ilb is worth it here
I know my dad and mom would kill for us to take Patton from la tech as another wr since they're both la tech alum
I saw him play 2 times last year live and id say I am impressed

Re: The OT Thread
Damnnnn swearinger looks like a big hitter
Don't know how I feel about that. We have manning and reed, I know reed will miss a few games most likely but this doesn't seem like the guy to fill in for reed to be a ball hawk safety

Re: The OT Thread
Need a 3rd safety in Wade System and the 3rd safeties last year sucked could have gotten one in the 3rd. Should have taken Jesse Williams with second
I hate the Ravens and Rick should have traded up
Can not believe all those QBs are still there I was sure that at least 3 more would have been taken in the 2nd
Trade up to get Jesse Williams

Re: The OT Thread
I really don't like this draft
I'm fine with Montgomery even tho we have crick smith and watt but why travardo Williams? I guess he'll probably switch to olb after watching highlights but still not a position of need and it's not like we're gonna fill those positions with cap space
I wanted another wide receiver with that pick, really wanted quinton Patton with it. He just got taken by San fran
