I donno. There's an espn source that several friends of his are trying to get him out of a hotel room and into rehab.

That he's had a problem with drugs for three years running and only now is it revealed to the world, despite his association with the Ks, is quite astounding.

But I hope he gets well soon. He's going to have a lot of trouble finding a meeting to go to.

Thanks earl and spolgar. I spent $90 in Bermuda on the present. More than I wanted to but I saw something that was PERFECT for her. She loves bracelets and I saw one that was amazing and had her favorite colors, she is very non-materialistic and cost concious so she may be mad I spent so much but I'm gonna try and tell her it was only like $50. She's here now (sleeping in) but I'm gonna give her the present this weekend on her bday...I come here to talk about this stuff because my friends would make fun of me if I brought this up to them haha

On a side note second time diving in Bermuda and Jesus they have no sea life but the wrecks and reefs make for awesome diving....anyone else here a big diver?

Local politics issue - Ol' Mr. E is firmly opposed to the upcoming ballot measure that would dump a lot of money into converting the Astrodome into a large convention center.

I want to see that thing preserved, but I think that the best thing to do is get it out of county hands and bring in private interests. My ideal situation would to get casino gambling legalized in Texas and convert the 'Dome into a mega-indoor casino/hotel/commercial/entertainment venue and then use the unused Astroworld land across the freeway to be home to three other casino hotels.

I'm not a gambler, personally, but it would be a good supplementary revenue source for the city. Unlike some other areas where casino gambling is legal, it would not be the major economic hub in this town. Not with the likes of Energy, Oil & Gas, the Port and the Medical industry being such a large factor here.

I believe that the worst thing that can happen is if we keep the Dome in County hands where they can continue to mismanage the hell out of it.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled, non-political discussion. :)

Not a bad option, imo, as were several of the other proposals that were previously given. Keep the money here instead of Lake Charles, I say.
Quite a few other good ones around here: http://swamplot.com/tag/astrodome/

However, I find your claims of government inefficiency to be appalling.
Wait, no no. $81 million for a terminal at Bayport that's supposed to harbor cruise ships? Built against engineering recommendations and with no demand for a new terminal from cruise lines? Paying subsidies to cruise lines to encourage them to dock there, and even with that they only use it intermittently?
Houston's housing authority was found to be running real estate scams as well? AND Metro? Whaaat?

Carry on.

Either tear that eyesore down or legelize gambling. I am against building more casinos in what use to be Astroworld/Waterworld :( . Traffic would be insane with 4 casinos and the you add the days the Texans play and it would be a cluster frack. Yeah rather keep the money in Houston then send it to Lake Charles.

Taz Texas tornado was also awesome but that ride always broke down. Cyclone was a classic. And I was always a huge fan of that space shuttle that would just go around in circles (always had short lines)

What was the first one that came out where ur legs dangled? It was green?

I miss roller coasters. I'm going to visit my girl friend in October in San Antonio for sure for fright fest and to ride all the rides.

Looping Starship

All about the Thriller, Greezed Lightnin’ and Ultra Twister. An even though you would leave the ride with a pain in your neck The Batman Escape. Man after that ride I felt like I needed a chiropractor.

Wilt's game was really pretty ugly. I'm surprised that he was able to score as much as he did. I guess it's easy when you outweigh all your defenders by 85, 100 pounds.
