Last I check is Lin is a American. And no, Lin does not hold dual citizenship between Taiwan and US. Taiwan requires male between 18 to 22 to serve 2 years in military. If Lin does hold dual citizenship, Lin is violating Taiwan's law and should put behind bars.

Re: The OT Thread
I still have the *****ing hiccups
I haven't slept well in 4 days cuz of these annoying things
I even went to a doctor and they just told me to get some extra strength Pepcid ac and some pepto and it helps a little but not a lot. I smoked a cigarette (I never smoke) cuz the kid I let live with me said it's what he does and it's been the most effective thing I've done....please someone help, or kill me hahaha

Yes because it's against the law to declare someone born in another country as your hero.

I just couldn't get any infos from the winter Olympics, not to mention a Rockets related one.
The Summer Olympics wouldn't have been such a surprise, but I wasn't ready for a Rocket to be mentioned during the festivities for the Snowy Olympics. It was really cool.

that really sucks, dude.
Sometimes if I get the hiccups and can't get rid of them then I'll mix a teaspoon of baking soda into a glass of water. I do that for an upset stomach, but something about it seems to jolt hiccups out of my system.
Tastes terrible, I should warn you.

I think that Dream became a US Citizen in 1992, so until then Houston's greatest hero was Nigerian.

I am glad someone finally said it before they were out the door. Anyways know little about him but he can play then I hope he is a Texan. Also I think Legions of Boom is the about the secondary and not the whole defense.

I don't know whether you are still suffering from hiccups.
I have a few members(work in medical field) of my fam telling me there are some cures(mentioned by your doc and Mr. E) for hiccups but work only individual bases.
And this is a holistic approach, they are saying, after a deep breath, try to hold it until you can't hold it no more and instead of letting it go of your breath, take another extra deep breathes at least 2 to 3 times before finally letting it go.
It's a mentally/physically strenuous process but it will set your core breathing pattern to normal.
But again, a success rate on this method lies individual bases as well.

Fat Elvis and the Wizard getting some much deserved love from the Disastros after announcing their retirement!
http://blog.chron.com/ultimateastros/20 ... n-april-5/
Easily my two favorite Astros not named Biggio or Bagwell. I was really happy to see Berkman get his WS ring, even if it happened in a Cardinals uniform. Watching Roy send said Cardinals home in Game 6 was also amazing.
Those were fun times(other than when Pujols ripped the heart out of every Astros fan by sending Lidge's pitch into orbit).
Have fun in retirement guys, hopefully some of the next generation of players we have coming up will be as memorable as you are.

The Astros will honor the retiring Lance Berkman and Roy Oswalt with a special pregame ceremony prior on April 5 before the team’s game with the Angels, the team announced Wednesday.
The ceremony will include retirement gifts and several of Berkman and Oswalt’s former teammates and family members. Prior to the ceremony, the Astros will hold a press conference during which each player will be signed to a one-day contract so that they can officially retire as Astros.

We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.

You have lost all good will with me by calling Lance Berkman a Cardinal...

Berk wasn't a cardinal
He was an astro that happened to win the World Series the same year the cardinals did
That's how I look at it

so if a player gets selected for the all star team...does his airfare, hotel accomodation, food, car rental, etc. get paid for by the NBA? the player gets to expense it out? or does he have to pay everything out of his own pocket? just curious...i suspect other nba players not selected to AS team and going to the ASG weekend festivities have to pay their own way, but wondering about the all-stars themselves.

I think the team pays for it. I remember Kobe & Bynum flew together on the Lakers' chartered jet from LA in 2012 or something. Kind of a work related trip so all expenses are paid for by the employer.

Re: The OT Thread
I love the Wizard even though he demanded a trade. Don't blame him they were on their way to becoming the lastros. To bad he had those chronic groin problems early in his career and back problems later on. Might have been 200 game winner and he was also robbed of a Cy Young Award. Doubt he makes the HoF but for 5-6 years I was one of the best in the league and was a true Wizard with that wicked curveball. It has been a sad year for me with the puma and Roy-O retiring
