OT-The Matt Bonner Dilemma?

Why is Matt Bonner still in the nba?
Worst player in the league. I know college players, or D league players who can play better than him. But here he still is, suckin it up in the first round of the playoffs for the Spurs.
This guy is the second coming of Ryan Bowen, without the defense/hustle. With an average 3 pt shot.
enlighten me, Matt bonner fans.

He's a very good 3 point shooter.
edit: Career 40% 3 point shooter.
Good size and fairly mobile. I'll take him on this team over Damage Assessment anytime.

ur just a hater, matt bonner is wat i wanted andersen to be like, he's been injured most the season, and since he's not a superstar, those injuries will affect him a lot, enough so that he's irrelevant on the court. he was doing good before the injury too. he's not the best backup and better suited to share the backup, but he's productive, can definitely stretch the d , use his size for some help defense and rebounding. he aint useless, on this team i'd rather have him than andersen and jeffries.

Anyone with average 3 pt shooting would at least get 40% 3 pt shooting playing for the Spurs. They have Duncan and a bunch of quick pgs and ginobili who can create wide open shots for shooters. 40% I'm not impressed considering, he's very stiff, unathletic and his lateral quickness isnt great.
So far in the playoffs, he's 0-2, 0 % in the 3 point land.. Oh well, you can pull up nice statistics during the season. But my prediction is, we'll see his true colors during the playoffs when his jumpshots are being contested.

its only 1 game, and first half isnt over, but it doesnt seem like he's much of a playoff guy, maybe regular season, which is why he shouldnt be the primary backup

I remember reading a media report about Matt Bonner and his usage of public transportation to games and practices back when he was in Toronto. At the time he was making only the minimum so he cut down his personal budget to get his parents a car. He seemed like a really nice guy.
About his game, he's an outstanding 3-point shooter. He was also a good college player and was mentioned in All-SEC teams. Today in the NBA, he's not necessarily a great player, but he's certainly far from the worst.

Yeah probably not worst in the league, but He's the worst player playing in the west playoffs right now who's given playing time, until of course he fouls himself out. But yea he has a streaky jumpshot when it goes in. But it won't be as effective as he is in the reg season. Because he'll be contested more imo.

It's been only 1 game and he's already the worst player to play in a western coference playoff team? What do you have to say about James Harden?

Bonner fits in San Antonio. He spreads the floor for Duncan and is very reliable from behind the arc. He doesn't demand a ton of shots and accepts his role.
Is he the worst player in the league?
I don't think so. Mo Pete might have something to say about that.

Alot of spurs fans think he sucks too. I'd trust them more than i'd trust someone who predicted a 33 win season for the rockets. LOL. Negative nancy.

Yeah that's kind of what a hater is

. He's useful and can shoot the three - having that single trait alone is deserving of a spot on an NBA roster.

As Sir Charles said. Get him a limo to the game. Go larry bird on Dallas please. Mr 3 point specialist.

You asked us a question and we answered you. He's in the NBA because he is tall and he can shoot the 3 effectively.
Nobody said he's a superstar.
