Thoughts on the Season from Red94

Mucho gusto.
- This season was a resounding success, in my humble opinion. The team proved it could be competitive playing a completely different style of ball. Were it not for the injury to Kyle Lowry, the Houston Rockets might have even made the playoffs. Most importantly, the team completely re-loaded the cupboard with Kevin Martin, Chase Budinger, Jordan Hill, Trevor Ariza, and the two Knicks draft picks.
- The loss of Kyle Lowry is the most underrated theme of the season. Most are assuming we missed out on the playoffs simply due to running out of gas at the end. I don’t think that’s the case at all. The team’s play has highly correlated with Lowry’s presence in the lineup. Had he not missed time, we probably maintain the momentum we had built before the trade. It is absolutely imperative that this man is re-signed.
- Have to root for Cleveland to win the title. Lebron needs every incentive to stick around and not bolt to New York. Our picks depend on his decision.
- Least surprising plotline was the entire development of the Trevor Ariza Experiment. He looked awful as a go-to player and has looked brilliant since the Martin trade. This was very predictable and bodes well for the future. The team is set at the wing spots.
- Biggest surprise was the power forward play. I did not know Landry and Scola had second gears. Still, I do feel Scola’s production is the product of some serious inflation.
