Interest in Andre Iguodala?

Sixers fan here (woe is me). The thing we sixers fans heard is that if we don't luck out into a high enough pick to get Evan Turner we have no interest in staying at 6 or wherever we land and taking the BPA there. I would love for us to move back in the first and snag Xavier Henry who should be available where you guys are picking.

We desperately need to get out from under some of our terrible contracts (not that Iguodala's contract itself is terrible but in conjunction with Brand, Sammy D etc it really is) and start rebuilding. I'd also love to get a chance to see Iguodala play on a team where he isn't asked to be the do everything guy we've asked him to be because he is terrible at creating his own shot/3 pt shooting in general. He is however an excellent defender, a terrific rebounder, a good slasher and can create for his team mates.

My question is can you see your team being interested in swapping picks and giving up serious value for Iggs in a draft day trade?

Rockets gave up all interest in Iggy when they acquired Kevin Martin. Probably even way before that.

AI doesn't play well in half court offense, I don't see how he can help us

our team isnt great at finishing, cbud and ariza our best finishers and they're not that great at it. yao and scola finesse players, which is why wanted iggy over martin. he'd be like lebron james for us, get a pick or set screens for him, the defense will draw on him and he'll make a play, or if they dont double he'll dunk on their frontline :D . of corse yao clogs the court, but w/ a HEALTHY swingman (not injury prone tmac) who's in his prime, i wouldnt think that would be much of a problem.

and w/ yao playing 25mpg at least first 2 months, iggy woulda had plenty of time to get used to playing w/ yao, w/ yao on the bench he'd kill w/ small ball

notta great shooter, but o well, we got brooks coming off his mip season, cbud, ariza, shane, and maybe taylor.

you live and die by jumpshots, but i trust in morey so i'll wait and see wat happens

Yeah, we don't really need him now since we've got Kevin Martin

The Rockets interest in Iggy dried up before the trade deadline. All reports pointed towards Morey considering Iggy as a "bad contract" and that he felt no need to add on the likes of Dalembert, as he already felt that the Rockets were helping the Sixers by alleviating them of that contract.

I am kind of curious as to what the OP considers "serious value" from Houston that he expects as sweetener.

I actually think the reason was because the sixers wanted more talent.. not so much of the contract, but maybe that was an additional reason
