OT - Wilson Chandler is a dumbass

Wilson Chandler looks to have joined the ranks of professional athletes who happen to be dumbasses.

Please understand: I am not casting moral judgement on Chandler. I may not smoke weed, but I do support decriminalisation of pot. I find the laws against it to be antiquated & that they simply serve to play into a "prison for profit" system which I abhor. If Chandler or any other player wants to toke, then that's their choice...but the fact remains that despite what I or likeminded individuals may believe, marijuana is still illegal to carry at this time.

And this is where the "dumbass" label is attached. He is a dumbass because he was carrying it. Wilson Chandler - and indeed any NBA pothead/player - should never be carrying the stuff on their person or in their car.

You get one of your boys to carry it for you.

You know who I'm talking about: any member of the entourage, be it an old friend, cousin, agent, or any other type of hanger-on that surrounds you when you go out to a club. I'm going to guess that of the crew that most NBA players hang with, they are the only ones pulling a 7-figure salary. They're the ones picking up the tab at the club. In essence: They are the "sugar daddy" of the group...and what sugar daddy wants, sugar daddy gets.

Next time Chandler or any other player goes out they should think of that. They should hand their bag of lettuce to their fourth couisin, twice removed and tell them to carry it in the other car. Then, when they want to smoke they ask that distant cousin or old neighborhood friend to roll it for them; because once again: Sugar daddy gets.

I don't know how many guys in the NBA are members of the Bill Walton Herbal Self-Medication Club; nor do I really care. I really don't care what they do off the court as long as it doesn't affect them on the court. I know that Chandler is barely going to get a slap on the wrist for this...but he never should have put himself in the situation to be in these headlines! Let your crew carry it!

I'm sorry to single Wilson Chandler out, but he just happened to be the latest member of the dumbass train. This insightful, political commentary applies to all the sugar daddies of the NBA.
