At what point does HOU let Scola go

Post#1 » by mattle » Sun May 23, 2010 4:10 pm

I know ownership said they will do what it takes to keep Scola, but at what dollar figure does he bounce?

8, 9, 10 million?

I think OKC will probably be the thorn in Houston's side and may send an offer that Houston doesn't want to match. Or, would the loss of Scola be so crippling that any dollar figure will be matched?

Next time you get your panties in a wad over some ill-perceived threat, take the time to look at the roster of the team in question.

*Hint* : Of the 30-ish NBA teams, who has two or more underpaid power forwards?

That'd be a nice start.

So start there.

I'll take Nick Collison and Jeff Green for eleven million total, Alex.
Morey 2020.

Q:How are they experts when they're always wrong?

Your answer was correct, but I'm sorry - you didn't phrase it in the form of a question.

Though harsh, I think you're right.

(After all, I asked what team and he answered with the players....which must've been another category.)

As if the next question wasn't going to be either someone referring to the wrong players or someone asking who they were.
Morey 2020.

haha, I was just messing around bud. Anyway, to be the only person to answer the question, I'd like to see Scola get paid 8m (10m max) but who knows how much Scola will ask for now that Morey's said he'll do ANYTHING to keep him.

I would say, "When we can get Landry back" but that would be too predictable.

Morey might be banking on Scola showing some loyalty, (a rare thing in the NBA these days!) as we did bring him here to play, and gave him a starting slot. I will be interested to see if his production drops off significantly with Yao back next year. more than 9 million, is too much. Unless we pay him more on a short deal, and re-sign him again on a better contract in a year or two, ala David Lee. By doing this, we also hedge bets on Jordan Hill, if he develops to be what everyone generally thinks he can be.
