First trade rumor to chew on

Post#1 » by tisbee » Tue Jun 1, 2010 7:10 pm

Marc Stein on NBA-TV claims Hou and GS have a deal on table that's the #6,Anthony Randolph for #14,2012 Knick First, perhaps Bud and I'm guessing cash. Claims Rockets are holding off because they still think they can get Bosh.

Other than it's a horrible,non-sensical deal for GS,I'd do it in a heartbeat.
We know Morey has long wanted Randolph and moving up to the #6 gives a shot at Wesley Johnson who seems to be a slightly better defense-playing shooting wing than Bud.

I like Bud, but I'd definitely do this too. It doesn't appear to make much sense for GS, but oh well. I wonder if we would be satisfied with number 6, or would we package that with the other Knicks pick to get in top 3? Hmmmm......

Sounds too good to be true......

Why would GS want to trade down from 6th to 14th? Chase BIrdinger doesn't have that much value.

The rumor is bs. The Knicks pick is top 5 protected every year from 2012 to 2015, and then becomes a 2nd round pick.

You don't trade a 6th and AR for a 14 and a pick that *at best* could be a 6 and might end up a 2nd rounder.

Look on the bright side. Chase Birdinger will make for a really nice ball stretching PF for the Warriors.

It's actually a fair deal. We get Randolph and this years #6, and they get this years #14, 2012 NY pick, and C Bud (a pretty good player). This deal should leave everyone happy.

And wouldn't the aforementioned trade give us better trade assets to land Bosh?
Hill, 6th pick, Jeffries, filler > Hill 14th pick, 2011 Knicks pick, Jeffries, filler

It would, and even if we didn't get Bosh, it would make us a better team moving forward. I like Chase, but Randolph is a better player. Could you imagine a lineup with Yao, Hill, and Randolph at the 5, 4, and 3? It would be ugly for opposing teams in the paint. That's not even factoring in the #6 pick. If this offer is on the table i say get it done while you still can.

Exactly, I would hate to see Chase go, but there are Chase Budinger's in the draft every year, Randolph has a unique skillset. There were even rumors of him being a 7 footer now. We're selling high on Bud and buying low on Randolph. We'd be trading Bird for Magic

Fair deal??????

Sorry, the Warriors arent in the business for a self inflicted azz fisting, thanks anyway. The rumour is total BS and why someone would go out of their way to report this kind of crap is astonishing. What a moron Stein is. Anyone got a link to this dribble?? I doubt it.

What exactly makes this deal a sphincter demolition as you so delicately put it? You're getting a #14 pick which is actually pretty good, a NY pick which could be gold depending on this summer, and a very good player in return for a pick and a good player. Randolph is a better player than Chase which is why there is an extra pick going to GS, but if you think he's worth more than that deal is giving you may have him mistaken for Bosh, Amare, or somebody else that is a much better player. This is a fair deal and if it isn't please explain to my why? What makes the deal such a steal for the Rockets in getting the almighty Randolph?

The Warriors give up the better player, the better pick and the Knick pick could potentially end up being a 2nd round pick. I'm sorry, how's this even remotely favorable for the Warriors?

Its not a fair deal because 14 -----> 6 is a big jump. The 14th pick and the 2012 top 5 protected pick that may or may not be worth anything will not get you the 6th. The pick swap is bad value for GS.

And Randolph ,despite his injury and relatively disappointing sophmore campaign, is still a 7 footer with a unique skillset. He's worth alot more than Bud. So its a double wammy for the GS. Poor value in swapping pick and player.

But with Morey, you never know. He could be working his voodoo magic on the GS's GM at the moment.

just like in warriorsworld.net says... the deal itself is stupid. for those of you who believes in the deal is even more stupid. The only reason I see the deal coming is if we get Yao in return.

#6, AR, Maggette, Vlad

for

#14, Chase, Yao and Hill

Return to Houston Rockets
