The Portland Trail Blazers continue to have discussions with several teams about reserve guard Rudy Fernandez, who has fallen out of favor with Coach Nate McMillan and has been seeking a trade for almost a year. The most serious suitors at the moment are the Toronto Raptors and Houston Rockets, with Toronto offering its first-round pick, the 13th pick overall, as part of a package.

Morey was targeting Fernandez in 2007 draft, but he was taken at #24 by Portland. We then went ahead and picked Brooks (Adelman's man). Morey always go back and try to trade his targets. Like Artest, Martin. Now I don't see the need for him since our wings are packed, unless Camry is included.

Fernandez salary is 1.2M, who don't have anyone to match

We have TPEs that we could use for him. Hell we got one for what like 3 million from the Landry trade? If we can get Fernandez for cap relief and future considerations than why not?

Hell if we really wanted to shake things up, we could trade Battier & DA for Pryzbilla & Rudy. We trade defense for offense. Fernandez hasn't shown much in Portland but I thik its safe to say that he could excel in a motion offense.

DA makes too much money to be a bench warmer as well. Plus with Pryz contract is covered by insurance saving us money and giving Morey a valueable contract to use via trade. Or we could waive him and use the savings to spend the MLE.

With Portland already trading Webster I say get irrr done!

Would the Rockets be interested in this type of deal? I think the filler will probably need to be adjusted.

That was a draft day possibility.
Rudy wasn't happy getting 20-25 minutes behind Roy(who spends 1/3 of his time at SF) so why would he be happy getting 1-15 minutes behind Martin?

Unless Martin was traded.
And if Morey thought by getting Rudy that Rubio would then demand a trade to Hou.
And if all that was on tap,then a Rudy,Andre Miller,2011 First for Brooks and Battier makes sense.(Port is getting kinda desperate so a lottery protected pick is probably obtainable.)
