Any update on his current condition?
How many games and minutes do you expect him to play?

1. He's working out again & doing running drills. The good thing here is that he seems to be rehabbing smart and not rushing things.

2. Personally, I will be pissed every time he plays more than 20 minutes a night in the regular season. I think that he'll start off light to begin the season and slowly add on minutes.

3. Backup center is our most pressing need. We need someone who can help limit Yao's minutes with more height than the hardest working man in the NBA: Chuck "The Truck" Hayes.

4. Yao's worth to Les Alexander, and indeed any owner in the NBA, goes so far beyond what he does on the court. He is truly a unique player in the NBA who has no parallel in which you can do a "value" comparison. Obviously there are many players in the NBA with more "on court" value; but don't be surprised to see Les Alexander pay whatever he needs to pay to keep Yao as a Rocket for life. Whatever he pays is peanuts compared to what he gets back.

1. His foot is fully healed and he's started running on normal, unassisted treadmills.
2. 28 - 32 mins a game and ~75 games if we're lucky?

4. He's probably going to get 10 - 16m per year, but he's definitely going to stay a Rocket for life.

i seriously hope he makes a full recovery and comeback this season. i cringed every time in the finals whenever someone was like 'what other big man in the game has a touch like gasol's' or 'gasol is easily the best big man in the league.' i kept hoping JVG would be like.. 'don't forget about yao' but he never did, that short and bald SOB.
