Do you folks *still* want Tmac?

Ok, the Bulls have just chosen Keith Bogans over Tmac. This means Tmac still is out of a job. Rumors suggest that the Rockets are trying to unload Jeffries. This would leave a vacancy at the SF position. Would you folks consider Tmac to fill in?

for the vet min hells yeah, but i dont think morey and rick want him back, and who knows if tmac wants to be back in houston, for the vet min. but if we do that cbud and taylor wont develop much at all, and they both showed good potential in their rookie year. and the only thing we need to be legit contenders is more inside defense, we're stacked w/ offense. hope he goes to a 2nd round playoff team

i'm trying to match tmac with a team that has the following:
1. would allow him to a starter (tmac has said he's starter quality, though he wouldn't mind coming off bench)
2. would offer him near mid-level exception
3. playoff contender
i think the rockets have 2, and 3. but i doubt the rockets would want tmac be a starter.

Rockets can't offer 2 either. We just gave big Brad Miller his MLE contract.

on 2nd thought no we dont need tmac, we need inside defense. from 1-3 we got brooks, martin, ariza, shane, cbud, lowry, and possibly taylor. dont need to add any offense to that mix. would be cool to have him as a backup but not when we lack inside defense. plus cbud and taylor cant develop their game w/ tmac taking up minutes.
well it looks like he'll never get out the first round

, reports say he's going to detroit

why would he go there when they have stuckey, rip, gordon, prince, jerebko? wat the **** ever , that aint right one bit . he deserves to ball in the 2nd round. why the **** does dumars sign him? wtf is wrong w /him? i thought he was done screwing up that team, **** a

Battier, Martin, Ariza, Bud, Lowry, and possibly even Taylor are ahead of T-Mac on the wings...so...why have him back?

I don't hate guy and wish him the best but that experiment is done and over with. It was a huge failure

2011 T-Mac is not the same as 2007 T-Mac, at least not physically (ego-wise is a different story).

Absolutely don't want him with 50 miles of this city. Good riddance.

I would love to have him at backup sg for the league minimum. Just think about how dangerous our bench would be if he is even a 70% T-Mac.
Miller/Hayes
Hill/Patterson/Jeffries
Battier/Budinger
McGrady/Budinger/Taylor
Lowry/McGrady
That bench would be better than over half the teams in the league. I realy hated his diva attitude, but for the sake of wins and loses I would take a low risk chance on him. If he doesn't work out you can always use him as trade filler at the deadline. If it does work out we would be feared throughout the league.

Anyone who wants TMac back on this board probably didn't watch must of last season. He's a drama queen with a habit for not telling the truth. He's past his prime and he can barely get off the ground anymore with his knee. Also the Rockets probably have too many SFs as is vying for minutes. Ariza, Battier, and Budinger all deserve big minutes.

If you actually think that McGrady will be a better option at PG than Brooks than you're sadly mistaken. The guy is slower than Fisher and cannot play any other position besides SF.
Don't give me that, "he wasn't 100% though!!!" bs either because he had about a year to prepare himself after his "injury". I wish him luck in Detroit (if he gets an offer) but he needs to stay the hell away from the Rockets.

I think you missed the fact that the lineup I showed was our bench not the starters.

There is no way in hell I would want him to start for us again. As everyone else has said that ship has sailed, but I think if he can accept a bench role then he could make us very dangerous.

No I got what you meant perfectly. Even if he's a backup, he'd still be detrimental to the growth and chemistry of our team. Just because he's going to be a backup won't change the fact that he's still more of a negative than a positive. If he couldn't even get a job over Keith freaking Bogans than what the hell makes you think that he's worth a shot (again) in Houston?

McGrady off the bench sounds good at fisrt, but then you realize (at times) he didn't really fit well with Adelman's system and that he'll take time away from our youngsters. I just regret how HOU and TMAC ended so badly. We had some real chances but we could never beat all those injuries.

08-09 should've been our freaking year

. Oh well.
I just dont see us wanting Tmac back while in our current situation. Now if we somehow got a CP3 (my fantasy) for whatever + some of our young players, I wouldn't mind Tmac coming off our bench. But a situation like that isn't very realistic, especially right now.
CP3/Lowry
K-swiff/Tmac
Ariza/Battier
Scola/Patterson or Hill
Yao/Miller
One can dream.
