OT: So I'm moving to Houston...

Post#1 » by Icness » Wed Aug 11, 2010 8:48 pm

I'm taking my talents to H-Town in about a month and other than last week I've never been there before. Are there any good full-service gyms or pickup courts on the south/southeast side of town? Decent basketball leagues. I primarily play volleyball but I still like to hoop it up for exercise and contact.

Also, if any of y'all ever want to hit a Texans or UH football game with me, send me a PM.

Where on the southside are you moving to?

You're coming here to be close to Cushing and offer him your support in his time of need, aren't you? Don't lie.

Eastside of Houston is the most boring side (unless you like water).

I'm moving to Friendswood. Wife got promoted to a plant in Pasadena, which does indeed suck. Pasadena that is, not my wife's career.

What's wrong with water? I'm going to be further away from it than I've ever lived before except for 3 years in Richmond VA and I'm bummed about that.

Nothing is wrong with that it's just most of the places to go in Houston are on the west side (more specifically the southwest side) of town. Southeast is alright though.

I'm a Cavs fan for life but I've always just really enjoyed NBA ball. My 5-year old will be a Rockets fan and he already likes the Texans. Maybe the move will shake the Lions fandom out of me...
