Too bad we couldn't sign Garrett Temple instead. Temple is a better defender and is bigger. But Ishmael smith played well in the last 3 games of summer league

Does anyone think he will be traded? usually Morey would just cycle through 10 day contracts for the 15th man

Ten-day contracts are available to be used starting January 5 (or the first business day thereafter) each season.

I called back during the summer league. I like this kid. He won't get much PT, but I like him none the less.

Oh, he did short arm a couple of those floaters too.

I really hope he does last.

He showed so much potential at Wake Forest. He really plays like Aaron Brooks lite.

So, he'll be joining Hill & Patterson down in McAllen for stretches this season?

How many players can we send down there at one time...two or three?

The Rockets on Thursday announced they are close to adding three players to their training camp roster, expecting to complete contracts with guard Ishmael Smith, center Jordan Eglseder and guard/forward Antonio Anderson, a person with knowledge of the deals said.

The Rockets farm is back up and running.

How long is it going to be until every franchise has a d-league team and the farm system in the NBA resembles major league baseball? i hate having some guys on the ROCKETS minor league team who because they aren't under contract can be claimed by any team (ala Garrett Temple to the Spurs)

It just feels wrong.

I'd like to be able to have Mike Harris and Alexander Johnson, etc. to be able to call up at any time.

^ For that to happen, roughly 17 teams are going to have to pull their heads out of their collective asses.

(the bottom 5 teams should also make sure it's their own before attempting the above)

The minor league contracting situation is being looked at in the new CBA.
Morey 2020.

Q:How are they experts when they're always wrong?
A:Ask a stock market analyst or your financial advisor
