Kwame Brown's Drafting

Post#1 » by moofs » Fri Aug 20, 2010 4:08 pm

Here's a very good article on the things that were going on behind the scenes that have no doubt heavily affected Kwame's life and career. Good read.

it would help if you give out your own little summary...

well i skimmed through and read a little bit of it. first i would like to say, that yes, i was a kwame brown fan. im embarrassed, when i saw him i saw so much potential. to me it wasn't a matter of if, it was a matter of when kwame was going to blossom and be a force in this league. i kept waiting for it and like a tease, he would show flashes of greatness. he really showed flashes, and he made you believe in him so much and your ready to believe he will be developed the next season. but as you all know, it never happened.

so from skimming, basically he wasn't mentally ready for the NBA let alone a man, he wasn't ready to stand on his own two feet and be independent... i also noticed he had a few problems with the family, financial related...

i maybe take a closer read to it later...

Kwame Brown actually had alot of potential. He has the prototype body and looked amazing coming out of high school. Too bad it was only potential.

Edit: Probably not the place to feel morally outraged.

This was a very interesting read, thank you moofs. It definitely made me feel more adamant about the NBA's stance on high schoolers going straight to the NBA. I hope Stern gets his way on the next CBA about prospects having to wait two years before entering the draft.

I feel like Kwame would be a great fit for the Rockets at the PF position.

Kwame did pull one on Yao a couple times, as well as Shaq. He's better than Eddy Curry and maybe has 1 on Tyson Chandler his 2 main peers. Kwame doesn't have a go to shot or much ball handling. But he can rebound, defend, block shots and throw down nasty dunks. Overall I think if we had Kwame Brown instead of Chris Andersen we would have done better and probably made the playoffs. He is kind of dumb but is a team player that is coachable.
