Seeing as how the Rockets are a great half court team, I thought this trade would be plausible. I love Scola and am not sure if Rockets fans love him as much as I do, but that trade along makes Denver a contender imo. I know this trade would involve me changing my avatar, but every one has to make sacrifices

Major fail
so detroit gives up hamiltons terrible contract and wilcox and walks away with brooks
denver gets no draft picks or cap relief for melo
and houston trade away some key players that would help make them a contender, which would be the only way melo would consider coming to houston
step your life game up

Also losing Brooks without getting Lawson, Stuckey, or Bynum is just plain stupid. I would not see Morey doing such a deal

He's an expiring. I think Patterson is going to be a great hustle player.

Rockets are looking to win and not get expirings. **** the Pistons could use that contract since the team is up for sale

the trade that makes most sense for all teams is the one i posted a while back
Detroit IN: Battier (expiring) Jeffries (expiring) and NeNe
Detroit OUT: Hamilton and Prince
Denver IN: Kevin Martin, Prince (expiring), Hill, Patterson and New Yorks Pick
Denver OUT: Melo and NeNe
Houston IN: Hamilton and Melo
Houston OUT: Kevin Martin, Hill, Patterson and New Yorks Pick

That leaves Denver without a quality starting Center. At that point I think they would rather go for Randolph + Gallinari
I personally would love your trade though and would hope Prince comes back to Detroit.
How about Deadline Trade:
Detroit out: Rip + Wilcox + Bynum + 1st Round Pick + 2nd Round pick
Detroit In: Brooks
Houston Out: Brooks, Battier, Martin, Hill
Houston In: Melo, Bynum, Det, Jr smith, Rip, Det 2nd Rounder
Denver Out: Melo + Smith
Denver In: Wilcox + Martin + Battier + Hill + Det 1st rounder
Are you guys really high on Martin + Brooks?

I wouldn't give Bynum let alone a first round pick. Stuckey is better in the playoffs than Brooks because of his size. Brooks isn't worth that much. And yes you'll be giving away four starter but you're also getting a superstar and a very solid starter at the two. Not to mention you have 3 PGs that have potential to start. Your biggest worry is Scola, but for Melo? I would give him up.

Yeah. Rockets aren't trading four starters for anyone.
That said, I'd give up three for Durant... but that'll never happen.

4 starters for Carmelo? No, that's not happening.
You have to feel bad for Denver fans in this situation. If Carmelo does insist on forcing a trade then they're going to be in the same boat as the Cavs fans this year: going from legitimate contenders to a team trying to figure out what is next.
What they have to realize is that, if Carmelo does force a trade to Houston or elsewhere, then they are not getting back anything close to equal return. This thread was started with the premise that Denver could trade Carmelo & remain a contender. Not happening. There is no way that Carmelo forces Denver's hand and then is OK with Houston gutting it's roster to make it happen. Why would he do that?
He's getting paid, regardless, so for him the big draw from Houston is that he sees a very good chance at a ring if he joins this team (amongst other reasons). Getting rid of 4 key components...just doesn't compute.
If he wants to come here, it is because of what the Rockets can offer him right now. That means that we're talking about the Nuggets getting a "rebuilding" package from Houston.
The 2011 pick (with swap), the Knicks 2012, the Rockets 2013, Jeffries expiring, Jordan Hill, Chase Budinger, Shane Battier (god, I hope not)...that's what they'd likely see in return - some combo of those assets (not all of them).
The Nuggets are not in a situation where they get to pick and choose what they want. I do not think that the fans of the Nuggets will like what they get back because it will be a rebuilding move.
The only way I see them getting more value back in current players is if a third team is involved and the Rockets ship Aaron Brooks to that team. Denver has no need for a PG, but there might be teams willing to send other players Denver's way for Brooks.
Just how I see it.
