Really wish I could be a fly on the wall at this yr's Rocket camp.
Unlike previous yrs where the rotation was pretty set going in to camp*,this yr has 3 major rotation fights to look forward too.

1)PG. Brooks is the incumbent but Lowry has a yr of Adelman's system under his belt and a previous training camp, not to mention a shiny new contract. I expect Lowry to come into camp determined to be the starter and Brooks will have to prove he should still be the starter.

2)Back-up SG. Lee vs Taylor. Morey has said that Adelman really likes Taylor and thinks he could be a starter. Lee has a yr of experience-and a ton more NBA minutes-and is a player Morey has long coveted. This one's gonna be good. Loser may well leave town.

3)Back-up PF.When Scola comes out,who goes in? Hill,Hayes,Patterson,Jeffries? This one may not have a clear-cut winner,it may take a village to back up Scola ;)

* Two yrs ago the only question was who should start-Artest or Battier?
Last yr was who would start at C w/Yao out and who would back-up the wings until McGrady came back.

i still think ab is gonna start but lowry might play more at the 2 with small lineups with him. unfortunately i see taylor gettin pushed back down even tho he has shown he can play. morey was so high on lee he'll be right behind kmart. id expect to see mostly hill n chuck when luis comes out. patterson might play a few minutes here n there but nothin significant. i think i read somewhere that dmorey said this will be our lineup heading into training camp.

I think Jeffries, Patterson and Taylor are the odd men out.

With Yao playing limited min. early...I expect Hayes, Hill, and Miller to be our main bigs off the bench

Lowry, Lee, and Budinger should be the clear-cut back-ups for their positions

Man I want this season to start so badly...

I actually expect Patterson to get the nod over Hill. I'm basing this off of the fact that Patterson is Morelman's (Morey & Adleman) guy where as Hill was Walsh's. Also, Patterson outshined Hill in the Las Vegas Summer League, IMHO.

I don't see any competition at PG or SG. Brooks will start at PG and Lowry will be his backup. Period.

At the 2 spot, Martin will start and Lee will take the remainder of the minutes. Taylor's style is more of an isolation scorer. I dont ever see him getting meaningful minutes with us.

Only the backup 4 is open to contention. One of Jeffries, Patterson, Hill will get it. My money is on Hill.

K. I haven't seen him play yet, just read somewhere that he could play both, but we both know there's plenty of stupid crap said on the interwebs.

I mean he surprised a few people on this board with his funky 3 point shot. His range is surprising given his repuation as a hustle big man but just because he hit a couple 3 point shots(and they were ugly looking) in the summer league doesn't mean anything. He just doesn't have the foot speed or the skill to play wing in the NBA.

I remember the few times that we played Landry at SF, it usually ended up disastrous. I feel that Landry and Patterson are pretty similar types of player.
