OT - Kings want Dalembert to focus on offense?

doesnt make sense since he's not that much of an offensive player. they have CARL LANDRY and an improving thompson. but more specifically landry should be their first option for inside offense. what's that team's deal with landry?

he a prototype defensive big. 6'11 250, above averae rebounder, top 10 shot blocking, good fts for a big. he's sposed to be on DEFENSE not offense. he's made that clear in his 5 or 7 or w/e years in the nba. if he was a reliable post option than philly would always be a playoff team.

they got carl landry, and they're gonna let him rot on the bench. bastards. and wat about thompson, shouldnt he and landry be the main offensive options in the post? have sammy d control the paint.

You're just mad cause he's on my team. I knew you've been secretly jealous of me this whole time...
But seriuosly though I do agree. It is a bit of a puzzling move. But I've actually been completely confused with their froncourt situation this entire offseason. They already have Jason Thompson and Carl Landry, yet they trade for Sammy D. Then they turn around and not onyl draft Cousins but Whitwside too. I don't know what Petrie is doing.

Well you should expect an NBA athlete to give his 100% on both ends of the floor, regardless of his strengths and weaknesses. Thus, every athlete should also focus on his weaknesses.

they should try to have landry or thompson be their 1st and 2nd post option, then go to sammy d. he does have a bit of a mid range shot but its not that good at all, cant depend on it. bad move for kings. they're good enough to make a push for the playoffs, but cant make mistakes like this. he's been a defensive big his whole career.

That would bode very well for my fantasy team.

he should focus on playing small forward, that way he'll be a rare 3 position player in fantasy ball. great if ur players arent versatile like mine :( .

Landry has been working on his 3-point shooting because Sacramento wanted Landry to be able to shoot the 3 and spread the floor for Evans. Personally, I think the Kings intend to use Landry at the 3 where his small upper body/short vertical reach isn't as big of a disadvantage. Tyreke Evans is like the anti-Lowry, when Tyreke is on the floor, you ain't gonna get garbage points, so everybody has to work on their own offense and be able to spread the floor to compensate.

Combined with that sweet stepback move we saw in the Yao workout video, he'd be an offensive monster!

I want Chuck to have one 20 point game before he retires. Not so much for him, but can you imagine the laughter coming from the Rockets bench?

Creating one of the deepest frontcourts in the league? He filled our biggest weakness. Dalembert is there for size and shotblocking, and whiteside wont play much right away. Thompson will be very good off the bench along with Cousins to start out.

Filled our biggest weakness and still having a TON of cap flexibility for the next offseason. Sounds good to me.

Yea, it's pretty weird when your career high rebounds total is higher than your career high points total.

by backup pg, you mean the 3rd pg? i hope not, cuz bibby hasnt fallen off that bad at all. he's more than good enough for a backup pg himself. we already have 2 pgs that are good enough to start.

Lowry is a very unique player.

He's one of the best on-ball defenders, rebounders (3rd amongst PGs in TRR, 1st in ORR), and offensive foul drawers (3rd in the NBA in charges taken).
His shooting numbers look pretty bad, but he draws a foul on 20% of his shots (more than LeBron, 1st among PGs) and therefore despite shooting 39.7% from 2 and 27.2% from 3, his TS% (53.6) is only slightly lower than Mike Bibby's TS% (53.8).
He also led PGs in AND1%, is eight years younger than Bibby and overall definitely a better player than Bibby at this point of his career.

stats dont tell everything. lowry can run the point better than brooks, not a whole lot tho. he's more of a slasher type of scorer than a shooter. and he's an above average defender, prolly top 10-20 pg defenders.
