I like it, but the guy that put that video up was a nitwit.

"Yeah, thanks for taking time to come by our school and help with the kids, please let me try embarass you forever."

I still don't understand why these athletes read to children who don't even know who they are. They should visit and have autograph sessions with HS students who actually follow basketball and know who they are.

autograph sessions aren't educational.
and he would look pretty silly reading to a bunch of high school kids.

So you think what they're doing is a waste of time?

Well the actual act of reading to the kids is just the "figure head", if you will, for the program. Reading to kids is of no real value. It may sound a bit cynical, but it's true none-the-less. Based on my outlook as a child, no celebrity reading to my class would get me to want to read anymore than I already had to. The kids that like reading will read, and the kids that would rather slam their fingers in a drawer (i.e. me) won't read. Carl Landry and Fransisco Garcia visiting once isn't gonna change that. I never did see how these things would make a difference. However, I do believe the NBA supplies books for the schools as well. So I'm not knocking their hustle, I'm just saying these things are a bit pointless.
