Should Yao's minutes be re-adjusted?

Should Yao's minutes be re-adjusted? Adelman says Yao is limited to 24 minutes of action. I'm not sure if it's a good idea. I mean, if guy is hot, shouldn't he be allowed to play extra minutes?

I feel that Yao's minutes should be adjusted according to the game, and not 24 minutes per game. Agree?

can't get into any rhythm
forge the 24 min limit
just play Yao in the 2nd half

yeah i think a better idea is to give him most of his minutes in a specific half. since he's playing no more than 24 minutes a game, hive him 14-18 minutes at a specific half... probably 2nd half. have him come off the bench in the 1st half and give him limited minutes to get him warmed up 6-10 min...

also the team is still struggling a bit to play with yao... we'll c what happens i guess

24mpg from yao is not gonna make us contenders, UNLESS we had another defensive big who can protect the paint. you could play yao 8-9min in the 3rd and 4th quarter, but that only leaves about 8 minutes from his 24, so then he gets 4min in the 1st and 2nd quarter? thats just stupid

it depends on the team's best interests. I think they want to be a contender, so we gonna need yao to prove his worth this season and play heavy minutes and play like he used to during his all-star days

I agree.

I'd start last years starting lineup, sub in Yao for 6-8 minutes in the first half and then play him 16-18 minutes in the second half.

something like:

Hayes 14 Yao 6 Miller 8
Scola 16 Hill 8
Battier 11 Budinger 13
Martin 16 Lee 8
Brooks 15 Lowry 9

and then

Yao 18 Miller 8
Scola 16 Hill/Hayes 8
Battier 11 Budinger 13
Martin 16 Lee 8
Brooks 15 Lowry 9

Yup. 2nd half is the way to go.

C'mon Rick. Do it.

I think this is more about his health than playing time. I'd agree to keep him out there if he's on, but you never know with the kind of injury that he sustained. One more and it could be all over. He's still trying to get his lift, conditioning and game back and when he feels good, perhaps gradually the medical staff will give the green light to increase minutes. But right now, I think the greater concern than extra minutes is getting the team back into winning again.

Is the minute limitation and no back-to-backs a permanent change?
