Houston Rockets Rotation

Post#1 » by pr0wler » Tue Nov 9, 2010 11:06 pm

Okay so after a nice win to get us our first win, we're definitely the best 1-5 in NBA history. That being said, we still have a lot of issues up in the air and injuries (of course) to deal with so what should our rotation look like? Note: Assume Aaron Brooks is back from injury...this is how I would distribute the minutes.

PG - Lowry (24) Brooks (24)
SG - Martin (32) Lee (16)
SF - Battier (24) Budinger (24)
PF - Scola (34) Hayes (14)
C - Yao (24) Hill (24)

Reserve: Smith, Miller

Useless: Jeffries

Lowry gets the start because he is much better on defense and runs the offense better. We don't need 4 scorers in the starting lineup anyways. Brooks still gets a lot of time on the court and adds a much needed scoring boost to the second line. Kind of a Jason Terry/Nate Robinson type role. Battier has slowed down a lot so he should split minutes with Chase, who has shown a lot of promise. Scola will continue to do his 20+ PPG thing, with Hayes backing up for spot minutes on defense. Jordan Hill is turning out to be a shock blocking machine thus far, and continues to develop his offense. Maybe throw in Miller as a backup occasionally if they want to rest Yao, or he works better defensively against a given team.

looks about right but i'll try to give Budinger more minutes once he remember how to shoot again.

Good to see Battier picking it up. Can Martin still cover PGs? If he can than a 3 guard lineup is feasible.

Yeah but who would guard the opposing team's shooting guard if Martin is on the point? I don't think Lowry is big enough. That's why I think a guy like Kidd would be perfect on this team.

Lowry is definitely big enough, but it's not like we're going to be going 3 guard for the entire game. It's just situational stuff like we do with Hayes.

I know that he's strong for his position, but I think it'll be difficult for him to guard taller shooting guards who could just shoot over him at will. A guy like Kobe would destroy him in the post.

Kobe is destroying almost every SG/SF in the NBA, so ...
