Jermaine Taylor is a talented player. But i dont understand this move for the Kings. Taylor can score buckets in benches but he can't play off ball. He's more of an isolation type scorer. He's a below average 3pt shooter and not very good at passing or dribbling.

Seems like a terrible fit next to Tyreke Evans.

Pros:

Good natural scorer
Great athlete
Explosive as hell
Not a head case

Con:

Confused when he doesnt have the ball in his hand
doesn't understand what passing is
below average ball handler
below average outside shooter
slightly undersized SG(6'4)

He's a steal for a mere 2nd round pick that may never amount to anything. I believe he is better than luther head too. But yeah, he hasn't played enough games for Houston to make an accurate evaluation. Our coaches probably know more about him watching him in practice.

right now he's a legit 3rd string. hopefully he becoems a decent backup 2 guard. he can score, and his defense is ok. should view him as a project

He's real aggressive looking to score when he's in the game. He started like three to four games for us last season and put up around 11 PPG in 25-27ish minutes. He had one game IIRC against the Lakers, where he played pretty well against Kobe. He doesn't do much else, but he doesn't seem to be a bad rebounder, and can be a nice spark if used properly IMO.

Runs all-out on the break.
Loves to drive to hoop and accept contact to get a shot.
Was only Rocket besides Brooks who could get his own shot at any time.
Last yr looked to pass more.
This yr went shot-hunting in his limited minutes.
Average to mediocre jumper, but working on it.
Will get in and rebound, often skying for one.
As starting SG on a bad team would prob get 18-20ppg.
Can make hi-light,ooh-aaah dunk and on next play turn it over trying to muscle his way past 3 defenders.
On your second unit he can be given ball as shot clock is running down and get to the rim.

Explosive, iso-scorer. Only reason he's "undersized" is because he doesn't really have a long neck. Long wingspan though. If you try to play him off ball however, he'll just stand in the corner and wait for the kickout 3.

He's gonna suck if you try to play him next to Evans. The guy won't complain though. He has a great work ethic and does what he's told.

I don't think anyone said he sucks, rather he's an aggressive scorer that might not be the greatest fit next to Tyreke, but someone for a future 2nd can be a solid contributor to your guys' bench, and occasional fill-in starter.

Morey should have called the Bulls first instead, would have gotten himself a real 2nd rounder instead.
