What big man do you currently hope the Rockets are pursuing and how do you plan on them getting him here.

For example:

Andray Blatche
for
Trade Exception + Patterson

or

Extended Carl Landry
for
Trade Exception

or

Camby + Jackson + Livingston
for
Yao+ Brooks + Hill to CHA
Wallace to POR

1. Nene (in a blockbuster deal with Melo - Yao, Brooks, Patterson, Brad Miller, Budinger, two firsts going out, w/ some kind of third team involed)
2. Cousins (Brooks + Patterson/NY pick or something)

if we're gonna get a big w/ a long term contract, we have to get someone who can defend the paint, rebound, block shots, get garbage points. blatche isn't that guy, and he's offensive minded, we dont need more offense unless it's a superstar who can close games.

we also dont need guys w/ a long histroy of injuries like bynum.

i dunno the contracts off the top of my head, but guys like perkins, dalembert, gasol. the thing i dont like about nene is that he cant defend the paint by himeslf, he needs help.

What about Hassan Whiteside from Sac. the guy is a 7 footer a shot blocking machine and is only 21 plus he isnt playing right now so we could probly get him for nothing maybe Jarred Jefferies and Ish or JJ and another 2nd rounder

The Kings were thinking about taking Whiteside with their 5th pick and were more than happy to get him in the second round. I don't see them trading him anytime soon, unless a team overpays.

we always have big men that distribute well(chuckwagon scola and miller are all efficient passers), it really helps our offense flow so we should find a good distributer....but were desperate for post defense and shotblocking

are there any big men that are available can both play defense and pass well?

-nene can pass and has a high bball iq but his post defense isnt spectacular and hell be really hard to trade for

-kaman can pass and he is a big body that can fill up the lane and he can block shots but hes having an off year...but that also can make him easier to trade for

-i like both blatche and mcgee but ive only seen them play a handful of times...blatche looked like a good offensive player and mcgee looked like a good defender and shotblocker but both seemed like they have a low bball iq...but i dont remember how well their passing was

-varejao seems like he can both pass and defend really well but i really really hate that guy

Pros:

-Legit 7 footer
-Proven productive Center(none of that potential crap)
-Only two yeasr left on his contract. With next year being locked out, he's basically an expiring.
-Good shot blocker/rebounder
-Has a jumpshot out to 18 feet(important for Adelman's system)
-Could be had for cheap due to down year and his backup Deandre Jordan playing well

Cons:

-Owed 12 million a year for two years
-Not a big black guy

-Career loser (which violates your very own loser policy... cmon now.)

I just think you have to think bigger than second or third tier guys like Kaman, Igoudala, Varejao etc... especially if they're overpaid. The same goes for quick fixes like Camby or average prospects like Jason Thompson, Robin Lopez etc...

The team, as contrustructed as it is, is way too deep, we all know that. That fact that Yao has this big contract, which makes a nice trading piece due the fact the its partly insured and expiring, is the perfect opportunity to finally convert the assembled assets.
If your gonna make a trade, make a big one. Melo, Paul, Cousins. That's what you aim for and if you have to overpay a little, so be it. Aim for the sky. No more roleplayers.

seriously half of the guys here insist we take on more injury proners. it's like they're so used to injuries that they wanna make up a team full of injury proners.

Adelman's bigs have always been known to:

-Pass
-Hit the occasional J
-Not be a dumbass

This describes the Lopez brothers perfectly.
