So Yao got surgery on his ankle earlier today, how likely is he going to be in a rocket uniform next season?

id say 50-50. itll be the same thing all over again. he'll be restricted to a certain number of minutes, be ineffective, and eventually hurt something else.

yea if we don't re-sign Battier we will have about 20millions to spend on free agents
we can spend that on some big black dude like chandler, perkins, jordan (restricted)
or .... give all that for melo ... or overpaid gasol (restricted)

I might be in the minority but I'd still like to see Yao retire as a Rocket. Gasol will also most definitely be overpaid next year so you guys can forget about that  .

If Memphis doesn't want him then there will probably be 4 - 5 other teams that will (ex. Detroit).

MLE or something like Haywood's deal. Stupider things have happened.

I say 0% chance Yao is in a rocket uniform next season. There's NO WAY he's actually considering coming back, YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS. back to back season ending injuries. i know people can use examples when it has been done like grant hill but we should all know Yao's injuries are a different monster.

hill's injuries are man-made. yao's injuries are from aliens with far advanced technology. any human in their right mind would've retired awhile ago, but obviously yao's mind has been altered by these sick, sick creatures. they think it's a game, fly around this planet with anal probes, blow up the world in 2012 during CHRISTMAS TIME! those bastards. I'LL KILLYOU! YOU HEAR ME? I'LL KILL YOU! F***IN BASTARDS!

I really feel bad for you guys. Yao is a total tease-potential to be the best big man in the NBA, yet his injuries have basically already ended his career. Houston's front office would be doing themselves a favor if they regarded Yao as already being a retiree-he's never going to play a healthy season of basketball again.
