While it might be kinda nice to get Nene, because it is true we need some size. He can opt of after this year and he isn't happy with Denver right now. So basically he is in the same situation as Melo, he can say where he wants to play, and if that team wants him, it will happen. So if Nene wants to play in Houston, we can make that happen after this season is done.

Denver loses Melo and gets Yao? Denver is going to lose Melo anyways and not have to pay 18.5mil for him. Why would they want Yao's 17.6mil contract when he really isn't going to play either? It's like trading an apple you aren't going to eat for another apple you aren't going to eat, so why do the paperwork and make your fans scratch their heads. Sure Yao's contract is also up, but this will still leave Denver without enough picks/talent to replace Melo (which is what they are trying to do right now).

This is not a realistic trade. You really need to think about it from the other teams point of view. If I were a Nnicks fan I would love the trade, Denver and Houston fans don't like it.

Ok ok ok, I will throw in a few things from my garage. A few bulky tvs that arent the type to hang on the wall (they work fine, just think of them as serviceable bigs), and my old vacuum cleaner (I will polish it up so it looks nice and passes the physical, but you will find out that it will not get the job done).

Jordan Hill and a 1st for Nene and Wilson Chandler is not necessarily awful, on its face. (Yao's expiring isn't the trade bait it would have been in years past, folks.) But it ain't gonna happen. Nene is injury prone and Chandler is another 3 we don't need. And that is that.

Some Rox board regulars need to calm down, by the way. It's not a terrible trade idea. Could be another one of those dunleavyjr abortions. So be thankful.

It's not a highway robbery for the Rockets, but they should be after more if they're going to trade away Yao's expiring deal. Another wing and another big man who can't post up doesn't really make us better. I'm not really sure why the Nuggets would do this though.

I think Denver can and will do a lot better.

As for the Houston piece I don't think the team is ready to write off Yao. If they are then it is not a bad deal. If Yao is done for life, the deal is Hill and a pick for Nene and Chandler is highway robbery for Houston. Nene is what they hope Hill can become and Chandler is as good as Houston can expect to find with a late lottery pick. And Nene is not injury prone. He played all 82 games last season and 77 the year before that. This season he has missed 4 games.

The question is will Yao ever play again and if so at what level. Maybe I am an optimist maybe I have too much faith in our healthcare system but I think Yao will play again.

Chandler is a FA this offseason, if we re-sign him we're gonna have a lot of big contracts going into the new CBA. No thanks

Kevin Martin and Brad Miller to the Pacers for Mike Dunleavy and Roy Hibbert?
Basically trading Martin's offense for Hibbert's defense and size (which would help the small backcourt)

Hibbert has not played very well lately so he may be available. He only had 4pts and 2rbs vs Dwight last night. He's still averaging 1.7 blocks per game this year (good enough for 13th in the league)

Martin and Granger would be a tough scoring wing duo for Indiana reminiscent of Reggie Miller and Chuck Person.
